District Number 10 Old Home Picnic District #10 Old Home Picnic held yearly for over 100 years reuniting neighbors, friends, families & decedents at Old Number 10 School House in Dexter ME.

Yearly Buffet Pot Luck picnic is 3rd Saturday in August at Noon. Call (207) 924-3067 for details The Old Home Picnic was started by the neighbors in the District Number 10 on or about 1911 to bring together the families on the 3rd Saturday of August. It has been a continuous reunion with the exception of a year or 2 during the war and has had over 100 + attend in the past. The families and their decedents are always invited to attend the annual Pot Luck luncheon.

Are you a history buff?
The Dexter Historical Society is once again hosting an Archeological Dig Monday, July 13th and Tuesday, July 14th, 9am to 1pm. This years location is the District Number 10 School House on the Number 10 Road in Dexter.
Rick Whitney & Archeologist Dave will be gridding off the school yard looking for treasure. In 2023 the volunteers unearthed many items at the school, built in 1877, found only 8" or so deep.
If you would like to help today or tomorrow or just observe, drop by. Tools provided by Rick... BUT bring your own drinks and FLY SPRAY & headnets if you wish.
For past Archeological items found in past digs, check out the display at the Dexter Historical Grist Mill, now open for the season.
As you can see in the pictures, all ages welcome... You may hear some grunting & groaning coming from some of the older folks digging, but we all lend a hand ✋️
