A little recap from this weekend with Colony Cat Club Detroit 🐈🧡🐈‍⬛

Thanks to everyone for coming out to meet some adoptable cats and kittens! They looooved playing and napping in the sun and getting tons of attention 😻

AND thanks to everyone who ordered a pumpkin spice latte and Arnold Palmer on Sunday. We were able to donate $276.50 from the sales of those drinks to Colony Cat Club.

Colony Cat Club is a Detroit based non-profit that advocates for cats across the city through trap-neuter/spay-release (TNR), medical care, community outreach and training, and finding homes for abandoned cats. Colony Cat Club is entirely operated by volunteers, so every donation and volunteer keeps them running and doing good things in Detroit 💫

Not on our frickin patio 😡😡😡

Spotted lantern flies are incredibly invasive and are a serious threat to local ecosystems and Michigan crops. See it, stomp it!

Spotted lantern flies are already confirmed in Wayne County and Detroit, so you don’t need to report a sighting but you should squish them immediately.

Rest In Pieces 🖕

You can learn more about them in the state of Michigan at michigan.gov/invasives/id-report/insects/spotted-lanternfly

Did you know most of the plants on our patio are herbs? We’ve got basil, rosemary, sage, chives, and green onions 🌱

This is a community herb garden so feel free to grab a handful next time you stop by the cafe! They would make the perfect addition to a big fall soup 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ To keep our plants happy and healthy, please only take what you need and harvest leaves and stems near the top of the plants. We want to keep the roots intact to make sure they sprout again in the spring ☀️

It’s almost the end of their growing season, so grab some while you can 🫶
