Our Story

Canadians Jason and Deveri moved to Detroit in 2012 to open the Brooklyn Street Local. Their mission was to work with local farmers and producers, to provide menu options that are fresh and flavourful and to create a space that is welcoming to everyone.

The Brooklyn Street Local is a Triple Bottom Line Business, which prioritizes People and Planet with Profit. We currently source ingredients and services from over 20 local business, 13 of which are within the city of Detroit. We also collaborate with non profits such as Foodlab Detroit, Restaurant Opportunities Center, Detroit Food Academy and the Corktown Business Association to contribute positively to the Detroit community.
