When I started doing pop-ups nearly 10 years ago, it came from both necessity and passion.
I used to help in a restaurant back in Liberia. At the time, I could have never imagined those childhood memories would one day grow into my own restaurant and that my mom would be here, part of the team, building this dream with me.
Today marks seven days since our ribbon cutting. Seven days of celebration, reflection, learning, and gratitude.
The grand opening was more beautiful than I ever imagined. When I first pictured it years ago, I never thought so many people would show up to celebrate with us. I never imagined the warmth, the support, or seeing community leaders, neighbors, friends, mentors, and even the mayor gathered in one place because of Little Liberia.
Somewhere along the way, this restaurant became bigger than a business. The culture around it became family. And that feeling of family extended far beyond what I ever expected.
These past seven days have reminded me that Little Liberia is not only about creating a home on E. Warren. It’s about becoming part of the neighborhood, being embraced by community, and leaving a meaningful mark through food, culture, and hospitality.
As an immigrant, moments like this carry a deep kind of meaning.
If you attended our grand opening, thank you. You are part of Little Liberia’s story. And if you couldn’t make it, thank you too. We hope we get to welcome you soon. 🤍
