A year ago we lost our beloved barista, Alejandro. He was not only a coworker, but one of the best friends you could ask for. Someone who was dedicated to any craft, recipe, art project, and anything he put his mind to. He was the type of person who would pick you up on the way to work but make sure to sneak a ham croissant in your bag or put a dollop of whipped cream on your jacket when you weren’t looking. Always the best dressed in the establishment, no matter how early he was there before the sun started to rise. He had regular’s drinks memorized like the back of his hand, and was always able to pick up on a conversation that was started a day before. Our friendship went far past coworkers, from night life outings to RuPaul watch parties, making dinner together, mornings at other coffee shops when we weren’t scheduled, late night phone calls, getting matching piercings- losing someone so special to the staff shattered us to our core.
