Here’s your reminder to stop planning the party in your head.

If you’re considering a birthday, holiday gathering, shower, dinner, meeting, pop-up or private event before the end of the year, now is the time to check your date.

You don’t need a guest list yet. You don’t need the decorations picked. You don’t even need to know exactly what the room will look like. You need a date, an idea and somewhere to gather.

We can start there! DM RESERVE with:

• your preferred date
• approximate guest count
• what you’re celebrating or hosting

We’ll tell you what’s available and get you the information you need. We will schedule your walkthrough after that.

You don’t have to have every detail figured out before you book the room.

An inquiry usually starts with:

“I want to do something for my birthday.”

“My mom deserves a really nice dinner.”

“We need somewhere for the shower.”

“I don’t want everybody at my house.”

Terri’s is a flexible gathering space with a full commercial kitchen, removable furniture and room to make the occasion feel like yours.

We can also help connect the pieces as we offer the following services: food and beverage, photography, décor, bartending, DJs and rentals.

Let’s get your date reserved and we’ll help you figure out the rest!

What are you celebrating before the end of the year?

DM RESERVE with your date & occasion and we will get a walkthrough scheduled.

One of our favorite things about Terri’s is that the room doesn’t always belong to us.

Sometimes, someone else walks through the doors with an idea, and we get to watch the space become something completely different. This Saturday, we get to watch Motor City Sings bring Four Women to Terri’s; transforming the space into a performance venue and brunch experience. Follow Motor City Sings for more amazingly unique experiences.

Hosting something of your own? DM RESERVE and tell us what you’re planning.

Terri’s only makes sense when you’re in it.

A birthday dinner. A meeting that needs to happen somewhere other than the office. A cooking class. A baby shower. A photoshoot. A chef pop-up. A book club. A launch party. A dinner with your favorite people.

Or something we haven’t thought of yet.

We built Terri’s to be an extension of your home, your business and the ideas you keep saying you’re going to bring to life.

There’s a full commercial kitchen. The furniture can move. The room can change. And we would love to see what you do with it.

So we’re asking:

If Terri’s were yours for a few hours, what would you host here?

Tell us below.

And if you already have something in mind, don’t just tell us—come see the space. Visit our website or DM RESERVE to schedule a walkthrough.

Terri’s has always been about gathering.

Long before this building, there were people coming together around food, conversation, music, celebrations and whatever reason we could find to be in the same room. That feeling is what we want to keep creating here.

Last month, we spent a lot of time telling you what you could book, buy or attend. This month, we simply want to invite you in.

Come work beside someone new on a Monday morning. Come learn how to bake something you’ll make again at home. Come hear live music. Update your headshot. Put a puzzle together with us. Test how well you really know your music. Sit in on a conversation that makes you think differently. Meet someone you might not have met anywhere else.

Our October calendar is full of unique events, as you can see in the graphics. Notably: Some things happening at Terri’s are free, some are ticketed and most require an RSVP or registration.

Terri’s was built to be an extension of home and a place for enjoyment, knowledge, curiosity, celebration & community. Terri’s is a place where you can come for the thing on the calendar and leave having experienced something you weren’t expecting.

Come see us this month and bring somebody with you. Or, come by yourself and meet somebody here. You can find all of the October details, tickets and registration at terrisdetroit.com. As usual, before you go, we want to hear from you:

If we gave you the keys to Terri’s for one night and said, “Make this place feel like home to you,” what would be happening inside?

Tell us in the comments. We’re listening and your idea just might find its way onto our calendar.

Why are we only selling 20 tickets? The number is part of the experience.

We don’t want 100 people watching Kenya Moss-Dyme discuss SEED from a stage.

We want 20 people sitting around a table with her.

We want you to be able to ask the question you’ve been thinking about. We want the person across from you to respond. We want the conversation to move around the table while dinner is being served.

That’s what we’re building with The Literary Dinner Series.

20 guests. One author. One table.

October 18 at Terri’s Detroit.

Early Bird tickets are $225 through October 4.

Reserve your seat while there is still room at the table.

The book doesn’t just inspire the conversation. It inspires the table.

When you come to a Terri’s Literary Dinner, you’re not coming to an author talk with dinner served on the side. The dinner is part of the story.

For SEED, we’re building an entire evening around the world Kenya Moss-Dyme created.

On the table:

Roasted Garlic Chicken with Apple C***r Dijon
Rosemary Lamb Chops with Pomegranate Red-Wine Reduction
Truffle Mac & Cheese
Lemon Parmesan Green Beans
Orange-Ginger Carrots
Michigan Fall Harvest Salad

But the most important thing at the table? You! Twenty guests will sit down with Kenya Moss-Dyme to eat, discuss SEED, ask questions and explore a story that gives us plenty to talk about.

At Leopold Women’s Center, motherhood is transactional, high-priced and completely customizable.

But behind the gleaming white corridors, Black men are reduced to providers of the SEED—curated, purchased and then discarded.

Stori Deringer has spent more than a year trying to destroy the system from the inside.

Then the public votes to keep it.

And expand it across the country.

Now imagine sitting across the dinner table from the woman who created this world.

On October 18, Kenya Moss-Dyme is joining us at Terri’s Detroit for an intimate Literary Dinner centered around SEED—and we’re only setting the table for 20.

This is why our Literary Dinners exist.

Not just to read the book.

To TALK about it.

Early Bird tickets are $225 through October 4.

Detroit, we’re setting the table for 20.

Not 100. Not 50.

Twenty.

On October 18, Terri’s Literary Dinner returns with SEED, a thriller-suspense novel by author Kenya Moss-Dyme.

This isn’t your traditional book club.

Terri’s Literary Dinner was created around four things: stories, food, conversation and connection. We take the world of a book and use it as inspiration for an intimate dinner experience with the person who wrote it sitting at the table with us.

This time, that world is SEED.

At Leopold Women’s Center, motherhood is transactional, expensive and completely customizable. Behind its polished exterior is a disturbing system in which Black men are treated as providers of the “seed”—curated, purchased and discarded.

Stori Deringer wants to destroy it.

For more than a year she has lived two lives: loyal employee by day and resistance operative by night. But when the public votes to preserve the program and expand it across the country, the stakes change. Her mission becomes a fight for survival, and something even more dangerous is waiting inside Leopold.

On October 18, we get to talk about it with the author.

We’ll gather around one table for a curated dinner inspired by SEED, thoughtful conversation, beautiful food and the kind of discussion that doesn’t necessarily end when dessert is served.

There are only 20 seats because we want this to feel like a dinner party not an auditorium. If you already know you want to be at the table, there’s a reason not to wait:

Early Bird tickets are $225 through October 4.

September at Terri’s is all about gathering, working, celebrating and making room for something new.

This month, we’re excited to introduce a new weekly pop-up series during our Co-Work at Terri’s days. Come work from Terri’s, grab coffee and beverages from Comsa Coffee, and stay awhile. We’re also hoping to bring in breakfast and lunch offerings on select days, so keep an eye on our page as we announce what’s popping up each week.

September is especially meaningful around here because September 21st is Terri’s birthday. There’s no better month to continue building on the kind of space she imagined: one where people can gather, create, celebrate and feel at home.

While our calendar is growing, Terri’s is still available for private bookings, birthday parties, meetings, classes, workshops, dinners, pop-ups and more can all happen here.

Terri’s Detroit is also still home to Terri’s Cakes. Pre-ordered cakes, cupcakes and other sweets can be scheduled for pickup or delivery.

We hope to see you at Terri’s this September. Come co-work. Come celebrate. Come host something of your own.

For private bookings and upcoming events, visit terrisdetroit.com or call/text 313.600.3799.
