Old Fashioned 7 Flavors Pound Cake: I leave my ingredients out to reach room temp. I creamed 4 sticks of salted butter, 8 ounces of cream cheese and 4 cups of sugar until smooth. I added 8 large eggs, one or two at a time. Then, I added 4 cups of all-purpose flour, one cup at a time. Lastly, I added about a 1/2 teaspoon, each, of these flavors: vanilla, butter, almond, banana, coconut, lemon and pineapple. I poured the batter into my greased and floured 10’ angel food pan. I baked at 325-degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes. I tested for doneness with a wooden skewer. If I insert and cake is not done (still wet), I allow to bake a little longer until skewer can be inserted and comes out clean. I removed from the oven and allowed it to cool a few minutes before removing it from the pan. Delicious! As always, my recipes are a guide. Be creative...make it your own!
Update: I keep getting the same questions. So, I will address the common ones in hopes of bringing clarity. The recipe is as is. If I didn’t mention it, I didn’t add it. No, I didn’t use baking powder or soda; the eggs made it rise. I used cream cheese, but sometimes I use the same amount of sour cream or buttermilk. I use what I have. You don’t have to use 7 flavors. Use the flavors you like or have; it’s your cake. I make pound cakes that don’t use as much flour, sugar, butter or eggs. This is just not one of them. No, I didn’t use milk. Feel free to modify as you wish. I hope this helps.
