Yes, the building is for sale. Basic Bird is not though šŸ£

We know thereā€™s been some chirping about the listing we quietly put up, so we figured weā€™d save everyone the speculation.

Basic Bird is owned and operated solely by us. Harbinger is too. We donā€™t have a management company or layers of managers behind either restaurant.

For the past four years, that has also meant owning and managing the property Basic Bird lives in alongside managing the restaurant operations. As we look toward the future, weā€™ve had to ask ourselves whether *owning* this particular piece of real estate is the best use of our time, energy and resources, especially when what we want to invest those things in the most is creating more restaurants and concepts for the culinary landscape of Des Moines.

Weā€™ve been quietly exploring new spaces around Des Moines and working toward projects and ideas weā€™ve wanted to bring to life for years. If the right buyer comes along for the Basic Bird property - ideally someone who wants to keep Basic Bird the tenant - weā€™d love the opportunity to stay right where we are and put our focus toward growing our restaurants rather than managing a property.

So long story short: the property IS for sale. Basic Bird is not. Weā€™re open, weā€™re busy, and weā€™re excited about what weā€™re building next!
