Friends of the Gem Theater

10/14/2026

OCTOBER 21ST - NEXT WEDNESDAY
Friends of the Gem Theater Meeting at the Gem Theater in Derry (149 1/2 East First Avenue) at. 6 p.m.
This month's host will provide a tour and talk about the Artisan Community that is being formed to support the growth and development of our areas talented youth.

The restoration of this Historic Landmark within the borough will bring back to life a great social center that was once a part of our community.
Forward thinking young persons will inherit a state of the art venture that can be used for theatrical, musical and entrepreneurial development.
Your community support is needed to make a Dream Become Reality. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to all of the many who wished me a Happy Seventy-First Birthday.
Please, if you wish to make it a blessed one, consider going to gemtheaterderry.com and make a donation so the dream for a better community experience can come true. I know it's not the grocery store we need but having a cafe and a performing arts center might increase the traffic footprint required to draw investors for that to become reality as well. Hope & Faith, the birthday girl.

Gem Theater Restoration Project, 149 1/2 East First Avenue in Derry needs a few volunteers for both Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Derry Great Garage Sale Days.
You would be making popcorn in our really cool popcorn machine, bagging it and selling it as well as selling cold soft drinks (both of these are $1 each)+ other theater merchandise.
We are also seeking acoustic musicians for out front on both days. 🥰

Community members are also welcome to bring things to sell at your own table(s) that you provide in front of the theater...Just remember that whatever does not sell goes home with you.

Your support in our fundraising efforts is most appreciated.
Please reply to this post if you can help or plan to sell. Or, contact Joan Reynolds .
Thank you!!!
