We offer food distribution programming and educational opportunities related to growing and cooking food, as well as overall wellness. We strive to be a community-driven organization, meaning that our goal is to have all programs led and implemented by members of our community or others from similar neighborhoods. We are successful when the youth, families, and communities we work with are empowered to feed, nourish and strengthen themselves and each other.

is a special month at The GrowHaus!
With neighbors and team members from the LGBT+ community, we celebrate diversity while providing access to a variety of fresh produce.
We are proud to foster an inclusive environment for our community leaders and for our neighbors who join us for each program.

A word from the Senior Manager of Food Access, Angelo. "Pride, to me, is about celebrating who I am with pride and gratitude. It’s about honoring those who paved the way before us and recognizing everything our community brings to the world: love, creativity, resilience, and diversity. This month reminds me that being authentic is always worth it."🏳️‍🌈✨

We launched a one-month campaign to raise $20,000 to expand our no-cost Mercadito at this time of elevated need.
Take a peek at the fresh produce that our community members are accessing at the Mercadito and make your donation today.

"National rates of food insecurity are higher now than during the pandemic, and we’re seeing this trend right here in Colorado. With lunch rooms closed, limited childcare, and skyrocketing gas and food prices, so many community members are telling me that they can’t keep up."

The GrowHaus is immediately increasing the capacity of its no-cost, pop-up community market, The Mercadito, to serve more neighbors. We need your help to raise $20,000 by the end of the month to sustain this expansion.

URGENT: Help us tell Denver City Council that data centers cannot come at the expense of people's health. City Council meets this Monday, May 18, to vote on a one-year "pause" on the construction of new data centers. We need you to show up for The GrowHaus' home communities of Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea (GES) in North Denver, who have been fighting back against CoreSites DE3 data center, which is already under construction in Elyria.

Our partners at GES Coalition have drafted a comprehensive letter asking the council to use a one-year moratorium on new data center construction to create a strong, enforceable ordinance that protects communities, water, air, utility affordability, public health, civil liberties, and the grid. This hits close to home, as Coresite's DE3 data center plans to operate around the clock at the heart of the Elyria neighborhood, next to The GrowHaus' land, as well as longtime family homes, senior housing, and other critical community hubs.

As neighborhoods overburdened by historical and ongoing pollution and divestment, our GES community deserves accurate representation and respect from our city officials. Please read, sign, and share this letter far and wide: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/mass-surveillance-in-denver

Earth Month may be coming to a close, but The GrowHaus team practices environmental stewardship all year long! As a food access organization that distributes more than 74,000 pounds of fresh food every month to over 7,000 neighbors across Denver, a robust composting system enables our team to responsibly dispose of any ingredients past their prime.

Composting diverts organic material from the landfill, where it would produce greenhouse gases, and instead gets made into a rich soil amendment that supports our local farmers and gardeners.

If you don’t already, consider celebrating Earth Month by setting up compost pickup with your municipality, a small local business, or by starting your own compost system at home! 🌎🌱

Happy Earth Day!
Here at The GrowHaus, we build innovative solutions that foster environmental sustainability and community impact. Our programs help neighbors of all ages build a connection to the natural world, learn to grow fruits and vegetables, and experience the joys of our local food system. This environmental lens brings our neighbors together to create a strong and resilient future for our community.

For National Volunteer Week, we’re sending a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the También members and volunteers who have given their time to support The GrowHaus!
During special events throughout the year, our volunteers help pack and distribute food for 7,000 community members, plant backyard gardens at our neighbors’ homes, and support our annual fall celebration of food justice, Harvest Nights.
Nearly all of our volunteer opportunities are exclusively for members of our special monthly giving community, También. We invite you to become a También member today to join Denver’s community-led food access solution! Our Spring gardening También Day of Action is coming up quickly, so now is a perfect time to become a member. Check out the link in our bio!

A note from our Senior Manager of Food Access and Procurement, Angelo:
“With April being Earth Month, I’ve been reflecting on how meaningful it is to rescue food for our programs. Being part of something that not only supports our community but also helps reduce food waste and protect the environment feels so special to me.
Last week, we sourced high-quality potatoes, oranges, bananas, lettuce, and radishes from our partner, Food Bank of the Rockies! We brought back over 1,000 pounds of food, bringing us closer to our monthly goal of sourcing and redistributing 25,000 pounds of rescued food.
It’s a reminder that small actions can have a big impact—keeping good food out of landfills, lowering waste, and making sure it reaches people who need it.”
This Earth Month, let’s all do our part to take care of our planet and neighbors.

By providing convenient access to fresh food to 7,000 neighbors every month, The GrowHaus bridges nutrition gaps and creates capacity for our neighbors to engage in enriching wellness programming, like our weekly Zumba classes! Hosted at our local Denver Parks and Recreation, Zumba classes are an energizing, welcoming space that accommodates a wide range of ages and abilities through joyous movement and music. Maria, a neighbor who attends these workouts, says, “I feel great at Zumba. It helps me with my health!”

With a team made up primarily of Latina women from the communities served, The GrowHaus connects 7,000 neighbors each month with fresh, culturally-responsive food. Our food access programs are directly shaped and led by community members whose firsthand insight helps direct resources to where they make the most impact. The GrowHaus doesn’t just distribute fresh food, it builds lasting community wealth by investing in neighbors’ career pathways.
