Twelve years ago, we set out to create a world-class, award-winning brewery for the town of Denton, TX. It has been an absolute honor to make that dream a reality. With barrels of blood, sweat, and tears, we persevered through hell and high water to create outstanding beverages, cut no corners to build an unrivaled company culture, and threw everything we could at attempting to develop a business plan for success.
In an effort to minimize Covid-19 transmission, from March 2020 to March 2021, alcohol related businesses in the state of Texas were forced to shut down or operate at limited capacity. While containing the spread of the virus was critical, the state’s restrictions affected both our taproom sales and the sales of all of our wholesaler and retailer partners. Poor sales led to the accumulation of expenses and debt and, although government assistance helped keep us afloat, we were unable to fully recover. Due to this, we have been unable to maintain a level of revenue to offset our expenses and must vacate our building.
The future of Armadillo Brewing Company is unclear at this time but we thank you all for the support over the last twelve years. You’ll still be able to find our beverages at retailers for a little while, so pick some up while you can.
Today, March 27, 2022, may be our last day of operations for a while, if not forever. Please come out today and have a beer with us.
