What a beautiful day in Downtown Denison! ☀️ After yesterday's sticky, humid weather, this sunshine and cool breeze feel absolutely wonderful!

The Depot has been feeling especially busy and alive lately, and we've been enjoying another round of little visitors from Denison ISD! ❤️ It's so fun seeing the students explore this beautiful old building and learn about the history of the Katy Depot and the important role the railroad played in shaping our community. A big thank you to the wonderful Train Museum volunteers who make these tours possible!

And speaking of beautiful things, our fountain is getting some more attention, and the flower beds are receiving a much needed refresh! It's exciting to see these little improvements happening around the Depot.

One of my favorite things about being here is that there are so many lovely little spots to sit, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. Sometimes we get so busy going about our days that we forget to appreciate what's right in front of us.

So grab a friend, grab a cup of coffee, and come spend a little time exploring the Depot! Enjoy the sunshine, find a cozy spot inside or out, and see what all this beautiful historic building has to offer.

Quote of the Day: “Go with the flow.” ⛲

Well, we're trying to anyway! 😂

Our beautiful fountain out front is FINALLY back up and running! After getting repaired yesterday, it was putting on a rather disappointing performance this morning thanks to a tiny crack in a pipe. More of a sad little dribble than the beautiful flowing fountain we were hoping for.

But the repair guys came back, worked their magic, and now we have flowing water again! 🙌

It's been a busy, productive week around The Katy Cup, and while things don't always go quite according to plan, there's a lot of progress happening and some exciting things I'm working on behind the scenes.

For now, I'm just enjoying this beautiful Saturday, the sunshine, and the little victories along the way.

So get outside, enjoy this gorgeous weather, wander through Downtown Denison, and stop by the Depot to see our fountain back in action!

Grab a coffee, find a sunny spot, and just go with the flow. ☀️☕❤️

Quote of the Day: “There's beauty in the everyday.”

One of my favorite things about being at the Katy Depot is the way the morning sunlight fills the lobby, reflecting off the chandeliers and casting the most beautiful golden glow over everything (the picture doesn't do it justice). ❤️

Even after all this time, I still find myself stopping to admire just how beautiful this building is.

It's been a busy day around The Katy Cup, chatting with customers, and restocking and getting everything back in order after a wonderfully busy weekend. And I finally got my Halloween decorations up, so we're looking a little more festive around here! 🎃

Sometimes there's no big story to tell. Just a beautiful morning, a good cup of coffee, and a little reminder to appreciate the ordinary moments that make life so lovely.

Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite, catching up with a friend, or looking for a peaceful place to sit for a while, there's always a little corner waiting for you here.

Quote of the Day: “Sometimes the best thing you can do is trust what's unfolding.”

Well, it's been a few days since I've checked in, and there's been a lot happening around here!

First of all... I FINALLY HAVE AN ICE MACHINE! After multiple delays and months of hauling bags of ice, I can't even tell you how exciting this is. It's the little things, y'all!

And last Saturday's Fall Fest was officially the biggest day The Katy Cup has had since opening! ❤️

The cool, rainy weather was absolutely perfect for a hot cup of coffee, and I loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting so many new friends. Days like that remind me just how grateful I am for this little business and the community that's growing around it.

There are lots of changes happening, new things coming, and plenty of opportunities to keep growing. And if there's one thing I'm continually learning through this adventure, it's that I don't have to control every little detail.

Sometimes things don't happen on our timeline. Sometimes plans change, doors open that we didn't expect, and we find ourselves figuring things out as we go. But change isn't always something to fear. Sometimes it's exactly what we need to make room for what's next.

So I'm choosing to trust the process, enjoy what I'm building, and stay excited about all the possibilities ahead. ❤️

Speaking of changes, I'll be swapping out the fall decorations for a little Halloween fun today or tomorrow! 🎃

And there are some exciting things coming up at the Depot!

🍂 The Farmers Market moves into the lobby beginning October 24th!

⛲ Our beautiful fountain out front is getting some much needed repairs! It's currently blocked off while work is underway, but hopefully it will be back up and running soon. It's one of my favorite features of the Depot, and I can't wait to see it flowing again!

💍 We also have several weddings and events coming up over the next few months, so the lobby may look a little different from time to time as everyone prepares for those celebrations.

But don't worry, The Katy Cup will still be open during our regular business hours, serving up coffee, tasty treats, and all the cozy things!

The rain is falling, the skies are gray, and today just feels like one of those days made for slowing down a little.

No big story or exciting update today. Just warm coffee, good food, the sound of rain outside, and a cozy little corner of the Depot to escape it all for a while. ☕❤️

So grab a friend, bring a book, get a little work done, or simply sit and enjoy something warm and delicious.

Somehow in the hustle and bustle of last week, I completely missed TWO days of Quotes & Coffee! 😳

And today? I don't have a big story to tell or some profound thought to share. 😂

But maybe that's okay.

Sometimes a good cup of coffee, something warm to eat, a cozy place to sit, and a few minutes to slow down are more than enough.

With storms rolling in later today and a few rainy days ahead, it feels like the perfect week for exactly that. ☕🌧️
