Good evening Luna County! There was a surprise press release yesterday morning regarding the proposed Mimbres Peaks National Monument. Very little information is available at this time, but the map shows the location of approximately 245,000 acres they wish to designate as a national monument. This would include the Florida Mountains, Tres Hermanas, Cooke's Peak and the Good Sight Mountains. Luna County Farm and Livestock Bureau is monitoring this proposal closely. We will try to provide updates and any additional information as we can.
