🫐 THE GREAT BLUEBERRY DEBATE 🫐

One day, I was in the bakery putting blueberries on our crème brûlée when Tiffany walked in and said, “Oh, I didn't know we put blueberries on that way.”

Excuse me? 🤔

Apparently, there is a right way and a wrong way to put blueberries on whatever we are making. Who knew???😂

Naturally, this led to a discussion about which end of the blueberry should be facing up. Because apparently, these are the things we discuss in the Cake Sisters kitchen.

And that got us thinking… we sure do love our blueberries!

We put them on crème brûlée, fold them into muffins, tuck them into Danish, bake them into pies and loaves, and pair them with lemon, white chocolate, fresh berries, and plenty of cheesecake.

💗 The Cake Sister Scoop — Saturday Edition! 💗
Saturday is here, and the Cake Sisters kitchen has been busy! We’ve been whipping up all kinds of sweet treats, and there’s plenty to scoop about.
Here’s what’s been making its way into the case:

-Lavender cupcakes with lemon cream and Italian meringue buttercream
-Vanilla and strawberry swirl cupcakes
-Orange creamsicle cupcakes
-Vanilla chocolate chip cupcakes

Grab-and-go cakes:
Chocolate with Chocolate mousse
Marble with chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse
Red velvet
Vanilla cannoli cream
German Chocolate

Fresh fruit tarts
Crème brûlée in several sizes
Sticky buns (because Saturday morning needs them!)

And now for something a little different…
Last year, we made a Dominican cake for a school project, featuring pineapple jam and meringue icing. This time, we were asked to make it again—but with our fresh raspberry jam and meringue icing. And yes, they’re available in the case!
The only problem? Explaining that whole thing is a bit of a mouthful.
So Brittany has been challenged to come up with a good name for this delicious creation. In the meantime, we thought we’d ask our Cake Sisters friends for a little help!

Friday is looking pretty good around Delaware City! ☀️

We’ve been busy in the Cake Sisters kitchen baking up all kinds of goodies for the weekend — blueberry muffins, crème brûlées, scones, pecan tarts, cupcakes, grab-and-go cakes, pastries and plenty more.

Our free samples of black bottom cupcakes are available! They’re chocolate cake with cheesecake and chocolate chips baked right in. And if you’re heading out around town this weekend, there are a couple of things happening that you’ll want to check out!

- River Rides are happening, and they’re treating their riders to a little something sweet from us. We’re happy to be part of the fun and appreciate their support of The Cake Sisters!

- Past to Present Resale is hosting a Farm Market, and we’re sending along a little Cake Sisters treat of our own for guests to enjoy — a mini scone, mini pecan tart or mini cookie. Just a little something sweet to enjoy while you’re out and about!

A little Cake Sisters family moments this weekend.

Our granddaughter Tempe turned 15 on the 27th, but because bakery life tends to make its own schedule, we celebrated her yesterday with about 50 family and friends!

Of course, there was plenty of food—pizza, chicken nuggets, Caesar salad, brownies, cookies, and a vanilla strawberries-and-cream cake. And, because some traditions are worth keeping no matter how busy life gets, Tempe blew out her birthday candles on her actual birthday with her 4-year-old cousin Julian.

Julian also had a big week of his own—he started school!

Yesterday was filled with family, food, cake, candles, and a giant waterslide with plenty of fun and chaos mixed in.

Sometimes the bakery keeps us busy, and sometimes celebrations have to be scheduled around the cakes and catering orders—but getting everyone together and celebrating the people we love is always worth it.

Happy 15th Birthday, Tempe! We love you and hope this year brings you lots of laughter, adventures, and everything wonderful.
