It's such a rarity in life when someone can have a rough idea of a dream and actually turn it into something. That is what Clock Tower Pizza is for me and for my family. A conversation about delivering pizzas in a DeLorean while watching Back to the Future on a family vacation has become this cool restaurant we've all spent the last five years building.
It started a little before that, however. As a stay-at-home mom of four kids (at the time) I decided that I wanted to learn how to make my own pizza. It stemmed from childhood memories of a favorite pizza place that our family would frequent. I wanted my pizza to taste a lot like that. So I found a recipe and made a pizza from it as it was written. It didn't fit the bill. I began doing lots of research and changing what I put in the dough and tweaking my sauce to get not just the flavor but the smell that brought me back to my childhood. I spent about ten years getting it just right. When I did, it was a meal my kids always looked forward to. They would tell me how delicious it was and how I should have my own restaurant. I would laugh it off but feel so good that I created this core memory for my now six children.
Somehow, the stars aligned and Clock Tower Pizza came to life. Inspired by our children, we bought a DeLorean and ran with this theme that we all thought sounded so fun. We had no clue how to run a restaurant. We had no clue what the next five years would have in store for us. I will say that it has definitely been quite a journey. It has come with a lot of sacrifices for not just Frank and me but for our children too. We work hard. We've put so much into everything we do at our restaurant. Every decision is made with so much care and consideration. We are so grateful for all of the opportunites we've been able to have and the people we've been able to meet along the way. It's been so incredible!
All of that said, we are in a tough spot. With rising costs of materials, keeping the doors open has been a challenge. We've been doing everything we possible can all while trying to keep our menu reasonably priced. Now, we're going into the slow season and the decision to dig up Highway 50 was made. It has made what was already a stressful situation so much worse. Business is down more than ever and our worry is that if it doesn't get a better, we won't be here when the road opens back up.
So, once again, we are asking for some help. If you could give our page a like, share our posts or maybe even just tell a friend about us, it would mean so much.
If traveling out while the the road is under construction is something you don't want to do (and I can't blame anyone for that, it's been pretty terrible) you can always order online on our website at www.clocktowerpizza.com. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can call us for deliveries or for carry out at 262-203-5092. If you don't get an answer, please try again as we could just be on another call.
If you do venture out, we have a front and back dining area to enjoy. We have coloring pages for the kids and we also now offer kids meals. We have fountain drinks and pitchers of soda as well as adult beverages. So, come on in and hang out with us!
We want to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us; friends, family, our amazing staff, our incredible customers... we would not still be here without you and we hope to continue to be here for years to come!
