Hello friends! With the windchill staying at a pretty solid -25 for the rest of the day, we have decided to hold off on business for the evening.

Tonight at Tapa La Luna - it’s Marimba Night from 6-9pm! For our music for the evening the NIU Scool of Music Percussion Studio will be performing their studied works for the semester.

We will be doing a “Round Up” fundraiser this evening! Come in, have dinner and some drinks, then if you choose, round up your tab for the students to help them further their studies and educational opportunities!

While there is so much happening around us in our world right now, I find myself thinking about our pal Rob. I try to think of what he would say to our customers in their times of joy, and their times of distress. I do my best to remember the energy of connection that he held with all of the people that crossed his path, I remember what I saw, and the energy that was shared every day.

Every day you watch over the bar, and every day we are reminded of our friend who passed too soon. The world could use some of you right now, and I truly hope that all of his friends, patrons, loved ones, acquaintances and beyond, keep that extra forward dose of love and kinship in the forefront of their minds and actions. When you listen, listen attentively, when you hug, hug with every cell in your body, pat the dog like it’s the first time you’ve ever seen one before, share a story, offer and helping hand, but also be willing to ask for one when you need to.

Thank you Rob, for being one of those that was willing to step in and say something supportive and kind, even when you weren’t feeling your best- even when it was hard for us to hear. You’re still the man.

We love you, we miss you, thanks for spooking me at the bar every once in a while.

What a beautiful day for our girl’s last day! Our wonderful, kind, funny, saucy, talented, and wise Katrina is moving on. She been a staple here at Tapa for the last couple years, and we are so excited for her to peruse her new educational endeavor, moving across the country and accomplishing her goals! Cheers Katrina! We love you, we’ll miss you and we’ll see you next time around the moon
