To our dear friends and customers:

After 68 years, The Hillside Restaurant
will be closing. Our time to retire from the restaurant business has come, as we leave with a full plate of happy memories.

Amidst Crab with Pita Chips, and Butternut Bisque …we’ve watched DeKalb grow.
From blue ribbon Chocolate Cake and Rhubarb Pie… we’ve seen our good friends celebrate their lives with the ones they love.
Chicken Alfredo and Schnitzel with noodles.
These are a few of our favorite things.
Marriages and funerals… Bar mitzvahs and baby showers. Movie sets and NIU recruits, and all the great moments in between.

We’ve helped put thousands of students through college, and watched movie stars and rock stars come and go at the Egyptian after they shared a bite with us.
More than 2 million home cooked meals.
We love you.
We will miss you.
Our last day is Saturday March 4th.
