I am sending this out, 1 to get ideas, and 2 to see if there’s any interest. I’m looking at leasing the restaurant space. They would lease the space and or the equipment. If they don’t want the restaurant, we would remove the equipment. There have been a couple of people who have contacted us, and want to turn it into a showroom for their companies that they have. So please send this out far and wide. You can post on here or send me a message separately and I’ll have a conversation with you about what it would look like if you’re interested in this space.

For those of you who couldn't make it to say goodbye yesterday, thank you for everything these last 17 years. Those of you who did make it, thank you for the speeches, the laughter, the definite tears, and the last memories shared. We felt the love, support, and sense of community we've always tried to foster here at the Lion. The next few days we imagine will be very busy with everybody stopping by to say goodbye or to have the last meal. Just an FYI, you can park on the street where the Fire Dept and the library is. If there’s no parking in the main parking lot. However you can only park on the one side. So look at the signs and make sure you’re on the correct side because we don’t want anybody to get a ticket. Thursday night will be our last trivia night. Sunday Casey is coming in to play with his band and do a final farewell. We are geared up for Saturday and Sunday, so everybody gets an opportunity to get their last favorite meal in. There’s so much I wanna say,and thank you is not enough.

💔 A Difficult Announcement 💔

After 17 wonderful years, it is with heavy hearts that we share the Lazy Lion will be closing its doors indefinitely.

Like so many in the restaurant industry, we’ve been facing the rising costs of goods, utilities, taxes, and the responsibility of caring for our amazing employees. Despite our best efforts, we simply haven’t been able to make ends meet in a way that sustains the restaurant we’ve poured so much love into.

We would love nothing more than to spend our final days surrounded by the community that has supported us for so long. Please join us between now and Sunday to get our Fair Famous Soup in a Bread Bowl and Cape Codders and then until our last day—Sunday, October 5th—to help us use up our inventory, share good food, and make some final Lazy Lion memories together.

We want to sincerely thank the town of Deerfield and our loyal customers who have supported us all these years. Your birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, family dinners, and everyday meals with us have meant the world. To our fellow local restaurants and small businesses—you’ve been our community and our friends, and we’re so grateful for the encouragement and camaraderie we’ve shared along the way.

Owning the Lazy Lion has been one of the greatest honors of our lives, and though this chapter is closing, the memories we’ve made here will stay with us forever.
