SELF RELIANCE: THE OVEN EDITION 🔥

Apparently, when your oven dies, you don’t get to have a cute little breakdown and call someone else to fix everything.

You become self-reliant.
You MacGyver the s**t out of the remaining oven.
You negotiate with the heating elements.
You whisper sweet nothings to the thermostat.
You bake like your entire business depends on it… because it does. 😂

But this little survivor is holding down the fort for ONE. MORE. DAY.

Tomorrow, Big Boy Oven arrives. And this girl is officially being relieved of duty.

She served. She suffered. She baked.

Self-reliance is exhausting. I’d like to outsource it now. 😂🎂🔥

But you know what? I relish being able to figure things out on my own. I like to think just a little of that Midwest grit from Ohio is still in me😉I know the Midwest community, welcome and kindness is absolutely still there🩷🌈🦄. Oh and that Midwest strength…Yeup full tank there😎

The sweetest little baptism cookies for baby Charlotte Ann🩷

The lace on the gown is my fave and achieved using a tiny paint brush to sweep the royal icing gently in a curve. The gold accents are hand painted edible gold. 🩷

Okie doke… the last thing I want to do is create any controversy with a post about having awful handwriting and certainly would never offend anyone’s opinions on environment, etc.

I’m sure some people don’t like AI that’s their prerogative.
Some people do like AI that’s their prerogative.

I do believe that supporting small businesses is the place to go and it’s something that if you know me, you know that’s what I do🌸

Having dealt with terrible handwriting all of my life as a result of a severely fractured right arm when I was five (I was pushed off a balcony and fell a story on the concrete. It was not fun) and having to teach myself how to write with my left hand (cue nuns in Catholic school that really didn’t like this), it’s been a bit of a journey…. I thought it was funny. And quite frankly, it’s somewhat miraculous that somehow I can write on cakes with my non-dominant hand, but cannot write on cakes with my writing hand.

I’m going to stick to really pretty sweet cakes☺️ and leave humor that could be misinterpreted alone.

Spreading love like buttercream, one cake at a time🩷
