It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on this site and that’s because McCaffrey’s Dolce Vita no longer exists!!! I sold my restaurant last fall to Roumel and Jalaine and they have made it their own!!! It is now known as Twin Springs Supper Club! While they have made a few changes... it still has the Jim McCaffrey feel!! So beautiful inside and out!!! That will never change!!!! Recently the restaurant got broken into and vandalized! I couldn’t believe it because in all the years we were there we never had one incident!!! I went down to visit my friends Roumel and Jalaine this evening and I’m happy to report that they are up and running again and ready to welcome any and all.... especially because of Nordic Fest here in Decorah this weekend!!! I will always support them and all of our wonderful Decorah businesses!!!! Hope you will too!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Happy Nordic Fest!!

As you all know McCaffrey’s Dolce Vita was Jim and my families restaurant, built from the ground up with love and happiness and stayed strong for our family in the last 12 years. With the loss of Jim last year, who was our rock and foundation, we decided to sell the restaurant and we are all proud to announce the new ownership of the building, now known as Twin Springs Supper Club! I wish Roumel and Jilaine the best of luck and a happy future with the business, can’t wait to be a proud supporter of the restaurant!

Hello everyone!!! I know it’s been a long time since I have posted anything and that there has been a lot of speculation about me selling my restaurant!!!! I can now officially report that indeed I have sold McCaffrey’s Dolce Vita! I didn’t want to say anything public until it was a done deal...and this morning we did the closing!!! As I’m sure you can understand...!it was very bittersweet for me because it was my family’s dream and we all worked there for 12 years!!! It has been harder for me since I lost Jim last year.... he was the rock and foundation!! And as I told my sister Karen last night... if I can make it through losing Jim I can make it through leaving our restaurant!!!! My family and I want to thank you all for your continued support!!! We have loved serving you and getting to see old friends and make new friends!!! I want to wish Roumel and Jilaine Raymon the best of luck ! They are taking over and it will remain a restaurant!! I know the new name but I will let the new owners make that announcement!! I will still live at my home just up the street... so I will probably be a frequent customer there!!!! Hi Everyone!! I realize it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted anything about Dolce Vita and you are wondering what is happening as far as our reopening plans!! It’s been a long difficult few months not being able to see all our wonderful friends but because of our location and the fact that it takes at least four hours to get our wood-fired oven up to the temp to make pizza ... it didn’t seem logical for us to offer food to go! I’m fortunate that my employees are all able to get unemployment and that has been a blessing for them! We are all waiting to see what will happen with the pandemic.... it is like living in limbo as I’m sure a lot of you feel as well!!!! I did have a few bands scheduled for our summer concert season but they all have decided to cancel there gigs for the summer and we hat made it easier for me to decide that music is just not gonna happen this summer! So sad!!! And while I have a beautiful outdoor dining area I am still reluctant to start serving the public!! So ultimately I’m watching and waiting to see what happens with other businesses going forward before I set a reopening date!!! I am hoping it will be sometime in July!!! The grounds around the restaurant are looking very beautiful! I’m so grateful for all your continued support and understanding!! Thank you my friends!!!! Very Sincerely.... Btenda McCaffrey❤️❤️

I am so missing everyone!!! We have been closed for 6 long weeks already!! For the safety of all we will continue to be closed until it is deemed safe for us all to return to normal!!I so hope we can enjoy this summer with live music and dancing under the stars to all our fantastic local bands!! And that we can enjoy each other’s company with good food and drinks.... maybe without the hugs....(that will be difficult for me!!!)You know I love to hug!!! So strange to be home on a Saturday night!!!
Restaurant closed and trying to practice social distancing ! Wow!!! I hope this doesn’t last long..I miss my family and friends !! ❤️

To all my wonderful friends in the restaurant business... La Rana, Rubyiat T- Bocks , Don Jose’s Hotel Winnishiek!!! And anyone else I’m not mentioning... We will get through this together!!! Stay strong and stay well !!! Decorah needs us!!!And also all the other businesses that are forced to be closed during this difficult time!! United we stand!!❤️❤️❤️

Guess I don’t have to decide myself anymore!! All restaurants and bars are ordered to be closed until March 31!! Let’s all hope and pray for the safety of all our community members and beyond!! We will get through this!!!

Decorah people help me out!! I’m so unsure of how to proceed in this world of coronaviris!! Should I do the right thing and be closed for a few weeks??? I can probably survive but can my employees??? What are the rest of you restaurant owners thinking??? Open or closed?? I would really appreciate your thoughts and advice... as I am trying to figure it his out by myself!!!
