Special thanks to all the wonderful bakers that participated in the cookie wars in Debary Farmers Market today, Jason and Abby for putting this event together. Also got to meet Raj and Tricia who are moderators of the 386 Foodie Review Page.
The winner was the one who baked the lemon blueberry cookie, which was really good. It was different, It was refreshing and well balanced.
There was a lot of good cookies, but on the plate are also other honor mentions
That chocolate with a bit of salt on top got straight to the point texture was great. Keep up the good work.
The pistachio cinnamon was awesome very soft texture and it reminded me of a baklava was not sure if that was the flavor they were going for, but it was delicious!
The turtle cookie was actually designed like a turtle with a pecans being the legs and the delicious gooey caramel inside was a surprise. There was a lot going on, but still wasn’t overly sweet so it was great.
There was a banana with wafer on top. This was my favorite one out of all the other banana ones because the flavor of banana was more present and still not too strong texture was great, amazing cookie
There was a Biscoff cookie there as well, managing to put cookie butter which is already derived from a cookie inside another cookie without drying it out is pretty impressive, good job!
There was a lot of chocolate chip ones, but this was the best as far I was not having too much chocolate chips, and having a nice clean butter aftertaste clearly taste the homemade which I love the taste of homemade baked goods
The sugar cookie with a lemon meringue frosting was pretty cool because sugar cookies for me are usually dry but it’s still retained. Its integrity and the slight tardiness of the frosting complemented it., very cool design. I believe they got second place
That orange cookie was the most surprising one, I am a sucker for orange sherbet, and this tasted just like! wasn’t too sweet and a white chocolate toned down the citrus kick in a good way. Whoever did this I gotta take my hat off to you because this was definitely thinking out the box.
felt like I had to break down in details why I remembered these cookies the most out of many had today, so don’t think if you haven’t made it in the top three that your work is disregarded, everyone did great especially the ones on this plate, keep going and keep pushing!
