If you’ve been following our journey, you know how much heart, hard work, time, and prayer has gone into getting Pope’s Place ready to open. We were SO excited to finally welcome everyone through our doors, but unfortunately, we are unable to open as planned.

Christina wanted to take a moment to personally explain where things stand and speak directly to all of you who have supported us along the way.

To say we’re disappointed is an understatement. We know so many of you have been looking forward to opening day, and trust us — we have been too. We’re tired. We’re frustrated. But we’re also not giving up.

We’ve come too far for that. ❤️

Sometimes things don’t happen on our timeline, and right now we’re having to trust that God’s timing is greater than ours.

Thank you for every share, comment, message, prayer, word of encouragement, and every single person who has said, “We can’t wait for y’all to open!” You have no idea how much those words mean to our family right now.

This isn’t goodbye, and it isn’t “we’re not opening.” It’s simply “not yet.” 🤎

And when we finally get to unlock those doors and welcome you into Pope’s Place, we have a feeling it’s going to make this journey that much sweeter.

Our Soft Opening is moving back just a few days! While we were SO ready to welcome y’all sooner, sometimes the best things are worth waiting just a little bit longer for. 🔥

🗓️ NEW SOFT OPENING:
Friday, October 2nd

🎉 GRAND OPENING:
Saturday, October 3rd

The plus side?! We’re only talking about a few extra days — and then it’s officially time to OPEN THESE DOORS! 🙌🏼

We cannot thank De Kalb and our surrounding communities enough for the excitement, encouragement, shares, comments, and support you’ve already shown us. It truly means more than you know. ❤️

So hang in there with us just a few more days… the smokers will be rollin’, the barbecue will be ready, and Pope’s Place will finally be ready to serve YOU! 🔥🐷

I need to give a big shout out to Billy Norton for his help with Popes Place.We could not do this with out the help from our extended family and friends.We thank you all .So many people have stepped up to help and have showed out. I love my family,friends and God.Thank God for Popes Place and we are not even open yet.Looking forward to serving our community.See you all soon.

There’s just something special about good food bringing family together. ❤️

This past weekend, we were blessed to have some of our family come in from out of town, spend time together, and get a little taste of what we’ll soon be serving right here at Pope’s Place! 🔥

But as good as the food was, the best part wasn’t what was on the table — it was who was gathered around it.

We ate, laughed, played a little music, shared stories, and simply enjoyed being together. It was one of those moments that reminded us what Pope’s Place is really about: good food, family, fellowship, and community.

As we get closer and closer to opening our doors, we continue to be overwhelmed by the love, encouragement, and support you all have shown us. We truly couldn’t be more thankful. ❤️

We can’t wait until it’s YOU gathered around our tables, making memories of your own.
