There are moments in life that remind you just how faithful God has been and will always be. ❤️
As we celebrate 9 years of Takoz Express this week, (August 6, 2018), when we opened our doors 🤩
We’ve been taking time to look back through old photos, memories, and all the moments that brought us here. And honestly… what a journey it has been.
Before there was a storefront, before there was a kitchen filled with the smell of tacos and fresh ingredients, there was simply a dream.
A dream that first came to life on a piece of paper while I was sitting in one of my college classes, sketching what I hoped would one day become our family’s business. At the time, it was only an idea written in pencil, but looking back now, it’s amazing to see how God was already planting a vision and preparing a path that we couldn’t yet see.
Our story didn’t begin inside these four walls.
It began with a mother-and-daughter team, a food truck, a lot of faith, and a willingness to work wherever the opportunity took us. We traveled to construction sites, served wherever we were welcomed, worked through hot summer days, and pushed through those freezing December cold fronts.
There were challenges. There were long days. There were moments when things felt uncertain.
But there was also joy.
We loved serving people, sharing our food, and building relationships along the way. Deep in our hearts, we continued praying that one day God would bless us with a place we could call home.
Like many dreams, ours didn’t happen overnight.
There were closed doors. There were “no’s.” There were seasons of waiting, searching, and wondering when our opportunity would finally come.
But God’s timing is always perfect 🙏🏽
When the right door opened and we first walked into this space, it was just an empty kitchen, blank windows, and a room full of potential.
To many people, it probably didn’t look like much.
But to us…it looked like answered prayer.
That empty kitchen represented hope. It represented years of hard work, patience, and believing that God had something greater ahead.
The sketches became plans. The plans became reality. And through God’s faithfulness, that little dream became a place where we could serve our community.
We didn’t start with a big restaurant, the perfect location, or everything figured out. We started with faith, determination, and a desire to serve every person who walked through our doors with fresh food and genuine hospitality.
When we first opened, we didn’t have custom window decals, a beautifully decorated space, or everything we have today.
We had a small kitchen, big dreams, an open sign and hearts ready to give our very best.
Some people call us a little “hole in the wall,” and honestly… we proudly embrace that because this little shop is a reminder that God can take humble beginnings and turn them into something beautiful.
Nine years later, this same kitchen has been filled with fresh food, laughter, hard work, celebrations, and countless memories.
Every taco served.
Every burrito wrapped.
Every fresh chunky guacamole made.
Every cheesy cheesedip prepared.
Every agua fresca made.
Every catering order prepared.
Every conversation shared across the counter.
Each one has been a blessing.
But beyond the food, what makes Takoz Express special is the people who have walked through our doors and become part of our story.
To every customer who has supported us, recommended us to your family and friends, celebrated special moments with us, and continued choosing our small business year after year…

Most importantly, we thank God for allowing us to be part of this story. We pray that He continues to guide us, strengthen us, and help us serve this community with the same love, passion, and commitment that started this journey from the very beginning.
