🍔Plan ahead for tomorrow’s lunch: Big Mac in a Bowl and Caramel Corn Puff

$6.60+tax. Available 11:00-1:30. After 1:30, as soon as we get them packaged, we put extras of our lunch items out for individual sale. We try to make extras for that purpose.

*Lunch-Plus option of an additional main item available for $3.
# Side-substitute…fruit or a bag of chips can be substituted for the side item.

WEEKEND SPECIAL—Slow-Cooked Beef Brisket!

Preordering required:

This week’s special is our seasoned slow-cooked Beef Brisket. It’s offered in two different ways:

-Heat and Eat Plate. This is a two compartment pan of Beef Brisket on a bed of homemade Mashed Potatoes with a side of our Green Beans. It is designed to feed one but with generous servings. Reheat in a microwave. $9.50 each

-Pan of Brisket. The pans will contain one pound (8-10 assorted slices) of brisket and 2 small containers of the au jus. $14.50 per pound.

Orders are limited but we will also do a wait list only because we aren’t sure how much we will get from our briskets and we don’t want to promise if we can’t keep that promise.

This special order item will be available for pick up this coming week on Friday or Saturday. Must be ordered by Wednesday.

Today’s email:

DDAC Go CATS, Closed Labor Day, Beef Brisket and Fresh Casseroles

Happy Saturday! Go CATS! I wouldn't want to be at the game today in the hot sun. Thank you to all the die-hard fans who are.

Remember, we will be closed on Monday in honor of Labor Day.

For those of you not on FB, we had a huge limb (or 1/3 of a tree) come down at our entrance on Friday. Visibility is already pretty bad around that curve and with the trees, but this made it horrible. We reminded customers as they left to take extra caution when pulling out. All was good, except I still had a tree limb in the way. I had several people respond to my call for suggestions and help, with many offers and ideas being tossed out. I even reached out to my own tree guy but hadn't heard back yet. Then, that evening I received a text saying, "Got it taken care of." I wasn't quite sure to what she was referring, but I had a feeling. I looked at the cameras and, sure enough, the limb was on its way out. Many, many thanks to Ashley Watts and her husband (and I have a feeling their two daughters) for removing the limb. What a relief! We have great neighbors on Lebanon Road, and I always say, I love my little town! Thank you also to all the other people who volunteered to step in or give ideas as to who might help. It is such a comforting feeling knowing there are so many good people out there. As Mr. Rogers would say, "Look for the helpers." I'm thankful to have many of those people in my village.

Beef Brisket. It's what's on the menu for next weekend. Get on the list. It's awesome. I'm ordering a pan for myself. I'm going to freeze part of it and what I don't freeze will be dinner a couple nights next week.

Moving into the cooler on Wednesday will be Poppyseed Chicken Casserole, Spaghetti and Meatball Casserole and our White Chicken Enchiladas. Great options!

❤️❤️I LOVE my little town. “Got it taken care of,” was the text I received yesterday evening.

Unbeknownst to me, Ashley Watts and hubby, neighbors across the street from the cafe, had taken care of the huge limb that had fallen at the entrance. Wow! Im still shaking my head in amazement and appreciation. I’m sure this was a huge project. I’m forever thankful.

In addition, thank you to the several others who reached out offering assistance.

We live in a great community and I appreciate everyone!

We will be closed for Labor Day but we are open regular hours today, Saturday (10:00-2:00). We have plenty of great items for your holiday eats. Come see us!

⚠️⚠️Caution!!! ⚠️⚠️

When leaving the cafe take extra caution when pulling out. A limb has fallen near the entrance and until we can get it moved it’s limiting visibility. Be diligent! You can still see on-coming traffic but it’s more difficult with the limited visibility.

That said, looking for limb removal as soon as possible.
