Hello Southeast Family!

In this time of COVID Quarantine, it is a Blessing to be able to share a Happy Occasion. Please help us Congratulate two of our beloved family members, Mike and Carolyn Hubbard, on their 49th Wedding Anniversary. It is heartwarming to be able to share with such a devoted couple on this occasion.

The SEKFCFA Board of Directors met Friday morning via conference call to discuss our upcoming Fall meeting. After considering the possible liability exposure to the association and its directors, and more importantly our concern for the health of our membership and vendors, the board voted unanimously to cancel the in-person meeting. We will instead have a condensed video meeting in October. You will receive a notice once the date has been determined. We all regret that we will not be able to spend time together in October. I was very much looking forward to it.

I hope that you all continue to stay safe and sell lots of chicken!

Honored to announce that our very own, Jay & Kelly, were named KFC's Bold Developers of the Year at convention last week in Orlando. Although we are so grateful for their leadership, it is our wonderfully talented Team Members that continue to make their dream a reality! Hats off to all of you frying chicken, serving chicken, and eating chicken!

It is with much sadness that we bring you the news of the passing of Larue Kohl. Larue passed yesterday morning about 2 a.m. Larue was a second generation franchisee from Alabama who had a passion for KFC and his customers. He served our franchisee family that he loved so much for many years through the chairs of the Southeastern and as a Region 5 representative of NCAC. We will sorely miss his quick wit and funny puns and the massive knowledge he shared with us all.

Please keep his wife, Jane, his children, grandchildren, siblings and the many other family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Arrangements are as follows:

Funeral visitation at Guntersville Memorial Chapel, 1601 Henry Street, Guntersville, AL 35976, on Monday, December 17 from 6PM to 8 PM.

Mass service at St Williams Catholic Church, 929 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville, AL 35976, on Tuesday, December 18 at 10:30 AM. A celebration of Larue’s life will follow at the church.
