Heaven gained a new angel this morning. Idella “Mammy” Nash passed away. It would take a book to write all of the things to describe this wonderful lady. She was the mother of Gina, and Jeff and also three other children Belinda, Terry and Deanna. But she was a mother figure to many in our community. Everyone called her Mammy because she made you feel like you were her family also. She was always available to offer advice, wisdom and encouragement to anyone who asked. Mammy worked at the deli 4 days a week up until just a few months ago. At the age of 94 she always arrived to
work with a smile on her face, hair and makeup perfect. She made working or just visiting Meltons feel like you were at home.

Meltons WILL be open Monday as usual and invite everyone to come in and celebrate her life and memory. Funeral arrangements are pending with Stith funeral home probably being held later this week.

There will be a memorial book at the deli tomorrow if anyone would
Like to come in and leave a message for her family.

Happy to be Celebrating 27 years in business today. We could not have been here this long with out the continued support of our loyal customers. Thank you for coming in and sharing your lunchtime with us, we love seeing you and it’s a pleasure to serve you.

The gang at Meltons are celebrating this guy. Jason, he has been in town working on the remodeling at Bate middle school. He found us his first day working in Danville and decided to do the “Melton’s challenge” (invented special for him). He came here every day while he was in town and ordered a a different sandwich working through our menu of specialty sandwiches and a few additional ones. When questioned which he liked the best he chose the TBS but said they were all great. Today was his last day working in Danville for a while. We are going to miss him and look forward to when he returns. THANKS JASON for becoming a loyal customer!

Our Main Street location will be closed Monday June 29th. Due to an evidently somewhat confused driver attempting to order food from our drive through on Saturday. Very important to know that 1. We are not opened on Saturday and, 2. We do not have a drive through. The driver instead managed to do serious damage to our air conditioning unit which we are hoping to have replaced tomorrow. However due to extreme heat that has been predicted, for the safety and comfort of our employees and customers we will not be able to open until it is replaced. We will post here Monday afternoon to notify everyone on our plans for Tuesday. Drive careful out there people and stay cool.
