When we first started That Smoothie Place, we knew we wanted to serve delicious, refreshing treats, but we quickly realized we were meant to build a community centered on deep love, acceptance, and inclusion.
We aren't just a smoothie shop; we are a foundation for change. Through our specialized, hands-on initiatives, we are helping to change lives, hearts, and perceptions:
🎓 The ABILITIES Program: Our tailored 7-week pre-employment training program is designed specifically for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In our immersive, supportive environment, participants learn vital food service skills—including safety, sanitation, customer service, and food prep—equipping them with the confidence and experience to excel in the workforce! 🍎🧼
🚌 CBI Field Trips: We love opening our doors for school Community-Based Instruction (CBI) visits! Students get a personalized, educational tour where they learn about healthy ingredients and even get to step behind the counter to blend and sample their own creations. 🍍🥤
