3 children will not get another birthday cake in their life.
A simple cupcake will never be in their future. We take for granted what we have and how we get to spend our time. Those 3 children belong to a mother sitting in trial for an unimaginable act of violence she did not commit.
Not only will she never get to celebrate the lives of her children as a mother pictures and plans for things like birthday parties, class events, hobbies, sports, and all the in between moments that comes with motherhood. But she herself is in a position where a simple cupcake is not a part of her life, praying it will be for the near future, but for us, we freely get to choose to eat a cupcake if we want too.
The things Lindsey has and will be facing for the rest of her life come at the cost of happiness and fairness. Our world has neglected our mental health crisis and as someone who struggles with mental health, I can say it’s very difficult to feel like yourself sometimes, while navigating the best medications, taking care of yourself, working a job, and so on, the pressure and expectations can weigh heavily on someone’s mental state and if the right support is not in place, the results can be devastating.
There are many of us who can read that and relate, and that alone is so sad to know so many have and are currently suffering, most of the time silently, without medication or help.
With that being said, if you are someone who can relate to Lindsey, whether you have lost a child, suffered mentally, been in a domestic violence situation or simply feel like women need more support, please come get a $1 pink cupcake, soak in the freedom you have to enjoy a sweet treat, reflect on good you have in your life and shed any darkness you feel if you can relate to Lindsey and this post.
I pray each bite of those cupcakes brings softness to your soul, wisdom to know you’re worthy, joy from being a child of God, and some crumbs of hope that a little kindness and compassion for others will go a long way.
This “L” stands for Lindsey as we stand with her, it stands for the love we need to have for others, the Loss we have all experienced in our own lives and Lord the almighty who will give us our strength.
These cupcakes will be available tomorrow (Saturday August 22nd) at CAKE ME AWAY BAKERY OLD LOCATION- 120 W Trade street- These will be the only cupcake available for a $1 in honor of women who can relate to this post. NOT AVAILABLE OR AFFILIATED WITH FRONT PORCH AND PROVISIONS- this is strictly a BRITTANY PRESSLER- owner of cake me away bakery decision to support and put my business out there!
If you are following along with the case, please pray for protection over all involved, though a judge will be deciding over this case, our God already knows the truth and does not need us to judge others harshly but to reflect on our own doings.
