As summer begins and we start making new memories, I find myself looking back at the incredible years we’ve spent together at CMA. Being a part of your lives has been the greatest blessing, but I’m writing today because we have some big changes ahead.
I am asking for your grace and kindness as we transition. By the end of this summer, we will be closing our current storefront. This wasn't an easy decision, and it certainly wasn't the plan I had in mind, but I’ve learned that timing belongs to God. Sometimes, you just have to take a leap of faith, even when the path forward feels uncertain.
What this means for CMA:
We aren't saying goodbye—we’re just changing how we do things. We are moving toward a new "bake stand" model. You’ll be able to find our treats at Front Porch & Provisions, which will also be the new home base for our custom cakes and wedding orders.
We will be transitioning to a self-service, grab-and-go model featuring a rotating menu of your absolute favorites—think coconut cake slices, strawberry tres leches, our signature cake boxes, cupcakes, and cookies. We want this to be driven by you, so please keep telling us what you want to see on the shelves. This shift allows us to offer fresh, individually wrapped goods while extending our availability to you.
For our wedding and custom cake clients:
If you already have an order booked, please rest assured—it is safe and will be honored. Moving forward, we are narrowing our focus specifically to weddings and custom orders. If you are a future couple planning your big day, I would love to meet with you. Wedding cakes have brought me more joy and fulfillment than I can put into words, and my heart is truly leaning into this direction. Getting your orders in early will be more important than ever as we manage our new capacity.
To my Dallas community:
My heart is so full when I think about the last few years. From the strangers who became regulars to the friends and family who traveled from as far as New York just to walk through our doors—thank you. To the people who came in offering hugs and support, the many fundraisers we got to be a part of, the field trip kids, the cookie-craze winners, employee competitions and every single person who put their blood, sweat, and tears into making this bakery what it was: you are woven into the fabric of this place. You will always hold a massive piece of my heart. The memories created with staff and their families, the laughs, the videos, the games and the dozens, the drawings and cards we have received, are irreplaceable and what a blessing it was to be in your life!
This year has been incredibly difficult for me and I am searching for signs from God that I am making the right decision. I’m sharing this with you because I need to be vulnerable about where I am.
I pray that our time in this storefront was a blessing to you, even just a fraction of what you’ve been to me!
Since my personal accounts were recently hacked, I don't currently have a social media presence or a CMA instagram. I will be launching new pages soon if I can’t get them back, and I hope you’ll follow along as we start this new chapter. We will keep you updated on all the changes to our hours and ordering systems as they unfold.
