When you stop by the Cheesesteak Trap, please don’t ask for Nachos. We dropped the “Na” and called them Steakchos for a reason. Picture someone shredding a Ribeye to create a “Shake” and layering it on chips sautéed 🫑& 🧅 and cheese with all steak rubs (not taco seasoning) to deliver that bold flavor you’d expect from nachos. Even with chicken, you still taste the steak.
You can’t beat it with a stick!!

Remix-Over-Fries


It’s not your regular fry experience; we do it differently from the start.
First, we use real Idaho potatoes, nothing frozen- For the protein, we season and grill it at 400° and follow our sandwich-like prep steps before we dump it over the fries with cheese sauce.
If you want Texas flavor, level up with queso for the cheese.

Decisions, Chances, Choices, & Opportunities 🤔

I asked myself 3 questions:
Am I Finished???
Am I satisfied with where Steaks and Cakes is, and have I Milked the Cow for every drop?
The answer is NO!!!
So I must Keep Going, in order to keep growing I must change the system. Starting this week, there will be changes.
Bad News; We will be closed on Sundays and Mondays to dedicate a full day to working on the business, not just in it.
Good News; Everything Else Will Be Turnt Up

On the flip side, we’re going online starting next week to offer more convenience for our customers and new customers. We will be offering everything on the menu except for the “Trap Menu Items.
No Pre-Rolls, Joints, Dime Sacks, Nickel Bags, No Remixing… No Trappin Online 😔 😜
If you want Trap Items you must pull-up,,, but cheesesteaks, wings, and desserts will be available.

Regarding food delivery services, we’re currently on Uber Eats with “Everything We Can Fried, You Can Buy” (no cheesesteak items). Hear me, NO CHEESESTEAK ITEMS for now. I’m looking forward to partnering with additional delivery carriers in the near future.

To maintain good quality food and service, convenience, and not take away from the in-dining or takeout experience, we’ll offer a curated menu selection tailored to your preferences.

The object when shooting for anything “Is not to Block your own Shot.” Whether you’re setting goals, aiming for a certain status, or pursuing something you set out for, you’re the only one who truly knows what’s going on in your mind and what you’re trying to reach, so “Don’t block your own Shot.” This can stem from self-doubt, a lack of confidence,no help, or not knowing what or how to move. S**t get Real, Real Quick!!!
You have to believe in yourself and be willing to listen, observe, and gain wisdom in the area you’re shooting for. Stay confident in your Shot. If you miss, f**k-it—go get the rebound. If you brick the shot, still go get the rebound. If someone else blocks, so be it—play defense. If you keep missing, try to stay on offense (stay positive) until you’re forced to play defense again. But as long as you have the ball in your hands, keep shooting that thang—like Seth Curry. Don’t give up, and please “Don’t block your Shot”

Knowing when to take advice and from whom is major. Everyone who claps isn’t necessarily cheering; they’re chasing the echo. And those who don’t cheer out loud for you at all, but are silently hoping you prosper and live in abundance, are often the ones who matter most because giving you the assist…

A week ago I was at 7 options now I’m down to 3 🤔 🤔 💭

When making tough decisions, follow a clear order of procedure. First, weigh your options. Then seek guidance from the Lord, asking him to reveal signs on the path toward your purpose. Take notes, journal, pray, and talk with loved ones who truly know your mission and vision. After that, —no emotions driving the decision, even if it feels challenging. Then ask yourself: what is best for you,,,mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially? Make a decision, but consider two alternative routes—for the “What If” factor.

That’s where I am today with Steaks and Cakes. I’ve narrowed it down to 3 options. Thank you, Lord, for your guidance. Thank you, Ms. Nicole (my wife), for trusting and believing in my decisions. And thank you to my Southside family—our “Kinfolks”—and even our hating a*z cousin 😂 you all play a big part in this decision. 

9 years and 7 months ago, I committed to doing ten flat years for this game (the restaurant) and planned to reevaluate then. I now have 5 months left on this ten-year journey. Decisions has to be made. Has it treated me well? Yes. Has it been the most challenging? Yes. I had an idea, stood on it, and built something from nothing with no handouts or resources, 100% independently.

Today, we offer more cheesesteak items than any other business in Texas—all from this one location. But the most important part is that I found God here, not in a church or at Granny’s house, but right in the kitchen, in the heart of South Dallas. Despite the stigma of the hood, I built a brand in the mud. Our reviews reflect the truth; I never paid a company to remove bad reviews—just took the punches and kept moving.

We’re ranked among the top three businesses in the downtown/southern area and in the top 50 metropolitan-wide. There’s nothing hood about that, and we did it independently for a mix of reasons—good and bad.

Just know, when you hear the whole story, we did the impossible—from Crumbs to Bricks.
Now, What’s next???? 🤔
