It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Papa’s Cafe.

Many factors led to this difficult decision, but the most significant was the decline in daily customers. It began with the government shutdown in October last year, and sadly, we never returned to our pre-shutdown levels.

To every one of our customers: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We cherished our regulars, the folks we got to know by name, shared jokes and laughs with, and truly considered friends. We were also blessed with so many new faces who gave us wonderful feedback on a daily basis. Your support meant the world to us.

What breaks our hearts most is the impact on our incredible staff, those who stayed with us through thick and thin; Ginai, Patience, Johnathan, Melissa, and Phillip. They are genuinely decent, kind people with the best senses of humor. Words can’t fully express our gratitude for their dedication and hard work.

What’s next? After a few weeks to rest and catch up on sleep, we would love to explore the possibility of offering small batches of our house-made Chorizo, Chili, Salsa, Granola and maybe even our popular Papa’s Cafe coffee blend.

The future is uncertain, but we’re hopeful for new beginnings.

New "Tastes of Home" Just Landed at Papa's Cafe!

These new items definitely bring back memories for me of years gone by.

First up: Our house-made Chorizo is now on our breakfast menu. This authentic Mexican-style pork sausage is perfectly spiced and fried up with fluffy scrambled eggs for that classic breakfast burrito or plate vibe. So far, it's been well received and we have already had a request to sell it in bulk.

And tomorrow (Thursday, Jan 29th) we’re dropping something extra special: Pastrami!
• The Pastrami Sandwich. It’s served warm on a soft French roll with tangy dill pickles and zesty spicy brown mustard. Pure nostalgia in every bite!
• Our new Premium Pastrami Burger. A juicy ½-pound burger (with a full 6 oz beef patty) topped with 2 oz of thinly sliced pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, and all your favorite classic fixings. It's hearty, smoky, and downright delicious!

These new additions are sure to warm your taste buds on these chilly January days. Nothing hits the spot like good comfort food when the weather turns cold.

I'm told that Daleville Park and Rec is hosting a day of basketball for visiting cities from around the area. There are bound to be many hungry athletes and families looking for a place to eat. The Papa's Cafe crew are definitely basketball fans, so we have decided to stay open an additional 3 hours (Until 5:30 pm) to accommodate our visitors. However, all are welcome today. We would love to see everyone. Papa

Tomorrow is the end of Fort Rucker's "Great Exodus"...thank Goodness. Today, Saturday 1/3/26, marks the day that Papa's cafe returns to it's regular schedule:

Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 am - 230 pm
Tuesday - Friday: 6:30 am = 2:30 pm
Closed Mondays

Good morning from Papa's Cafe...

A big thanks go out to those who were waiting for us to open this morning at 8am. Being an early riser, I appreciate others that get hopping early in the morning.

I just pulled a batch of Papa's Big Boy Cinna-Rolls out of the oven. They need to cool a bit before frosting. However, we have some Peach Fritters, Nutella Twists, Snickerdoodles, a small variety of scones, and apple pie tartlets already to on display.

Papa's Cafe Holiday Hours:

This holiday season marks our first experience with Fort Rucker's annual "Great Exodus" over Christmas and New Year's. To accommodate this quieter period, Papa's Cafe will have adjusted hours:

* Closed on weekdays during the Exodus (December 23, 2025 - January 2, 2026)
* Open on weekends: Saturday, December 27 - Sunday, December 28, and Saturday, January 3 - Sunday, January 4, 2026

We will return to our regular schedule starting Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Papa's Cafe is now open on Sundays! In honor of our first full weekend of service, we are adding Grits to our menu. You will be able to get grits in lieu of fried potatoes with your Traditional or omelette. If you are the adventurous type, you can even get a side of grits with your double smash burger or anything else that tickles your fancy.

Here is our weekend schedule:
Saturday & Sunday
8 am - 2:30 pm

The kitchen closes at 2pm. If you can't make it by 2 pm, we still have delicious bakeshop goodies and a variety of drink options like cold brew coffee and some Red Bull specialties. You are always welcome to come in and hang out.

We’re thrilled to announce that starting Sunday, December 21, we’ll be OPEN ON SUNDAYS.

Come join us six days a week for your favorite breakfast and lunch classics.

Our new hours:
Tuesday – Friday: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Closed Monday

And to celebrate our Sunday opening, we’re finally adding GRITS to the menu...Creamy, Buttery, Southern-style grits; just the way you like them.
