Cookbook update:

First of all, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize for the unacceptable delays on my part for keeping you all updated. I’m not going to make excuses for my lack of communication.

I have cancelled the order with the old publisher. I will send it to another company that has been recommended to me as soon as I get the refund from the other publisher.
I know this is frustrating for you all, my friends, because it’s been very frustrating to me. I know some of you think that I have cheated you. And I understand that. I would think the same thing.

Here is a copy of the last email correspondence I received from the publisher. Most of my communication with the publisher has been through phone conversations, but I recently had to shut off my phone due to my personal financial situation.

Anyway, I promise I will make it good. I also promise that this cookbook will go above your expectations.

Please forgive me for not being more transparent.

I am feeling like every tendon has disconnected from bones. I had a very violent “nerve storm” around midnight, so sleep was averted. I think that’s what caused everything else to rip and tear. I’ve also broken down and quit drinking Coca Cola or any soft drink. On my best day, I’m a jerk. Lately, I’ve been embarrassed to know me!

On a bright note, my cookbook publisher has been keeping me updated on edits they have found so far. I have set the deadline to pre-order for August 31. If you don’t pre-order, you won’t get a copy until the second printing happens in January 2024 if needed.

Announcing!!!!
My cookbook is at the publisher’s!!!
The publisher has confirmed that it has received my second draft. The editing team will mark all mistakes and return it to me to correct the mistakes if I want to. I’ll return it for typesetting and cover printing. I’ll then receive a precopy for approval. Then it will go to the printer and customers.

The publisher will only do preorders for cookbooks. I will be taking preorders from now until September 1. The cookbooks will arrive to you in plenty of time for cooking Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts.

I have invested over 30 years into this book. I’ve written stories behind several of the recipes. I’m including several photos from the restaurant. There are 150+ recipes that we used in the restaurant, my catering, and in our family gatherings.
The cookbook is set in a three ring binder for easy open/stay open use.
I am also including:
- A section of tips that I have learned over the years.
- My pantry staples
- Pots and pans suggestions
- Knives and knife care

This is Paul. It is with a broken heart that I make this post. Mama (Gayle) passed away this evening. Please keep our family in your prayers.

Hey friends, Paul here. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here.
First of all, I want to say how much Mom, Teresa, and I miss our restaurant friends.
Mom’s (Gayle) health continues to decline. COPD is bad. She misses everyone. She’s not been anywhere since Covid started its mess.
Teresa is doing well. She’s working as an office manager in Hot Springs at a shipping company. She’s busy spoiling Raylee.
I am having some health issues, but I’ll be ok. I’m now the administrator of Glenwood Christian School in Glenwood.

I’m putting the finishing touches on my cookbook. I’ll be offering pre-sale orders in about 6-8 weeks. I’m editing the recipes and trying to make sure all of our recipes are included.

If you have any stories about our restaurant you want included in my cookbook, please post it. I’d like to include some stories too.
