IT’S HAPPENING! BLUEBERRY-CORN SOFT SERVE IS BACK!!

One of our staple flavours, imagined by the talented Vu Duong back in 2018!

Wild QC blueberry (vegan) on one side and sweet cream corn on the other! We topp it with more fresh blueberries and caramel corn! It’s sweet, salty, fresh, and crunchy.

Available for lunch and dinner.
You can also order soft serve for take out from The Corner Store. We sell them in mini or regular sized cups.

I think this is our best version yet - so corny 😜.

Little special roast beef “carpaccio” on tonight. It’s got all the nice things; pickled green tomato-aioli, comté, some spicy wild arugula, and pickled chanterelles (thanks Yannick La Salle !).

Also, as I was eating this I thought, “instead of this fork, I should be rolling this meat around a couple of fries.” Duh.

On till it’s gone, available at lunch and dinner!

Every year, at the end of the summer, we close for a week to give all of our hard working staff a little break!

UGH!!!!!! BLACK RASPBERRIES!!!!

I grew up foraging these little beauties. Our t-shirts turned into apron hammocks for the precious cargo; forever stained a deep fuchsia.

Lucky to have nice friends like Top Shelf Preserves who connected us with a local forager who had a trove of these little guys. Not black berries but black raspberries, tart and sweet, they lean a little more towards currants in flavour.

To let them really shine, we made a simple tart shell and filled it with a cheesy, eggy, custard (similar to a patas de natas filling), then we scooped out a big dollop of black raspberry jelly, whipped cream, and covered the top in berries.

There are not very many of these and they are very special. Come try them tonight! Probably won’t be on longer then that!

NEW PASTA DISH!

I really wish you could smell this dish right now! We’re exploring the amazing toasty flavour in our sourdough pasta and accidentally made pizza!

Let me explain. We wanted to do a simple summer pasta with a bright basil pesto and some house-sundried cherry tomatoes. We added some salty, fennel sausage to balance out the sweetness from the sundried tomatoes and topped it with garlicy sourdough breadcrumbs for a little texture. And of course we need a little cheese, duh! We added some Ontario fior dip latte, and bam - we got pizza! Toasty crust flavour from the sourdough pasta and breadcrumbs, the sundried cherry tomatoes and pesto make up the sauce, soft cheese and salty fennel sausage are the toppings!

Dinner only!

100% strawberry on one side (vegan) and sour cream on the other side. Topped with strawberry coulis, crunchy vanilla cake bits, fresh strawberries, and a couple little basil leaves.

On until corn and blueberries are in season!

Here’s a little spicy guy for you fine folks! Another summer banger from Blake !

A whole 1/2 chicken from Ian Walker , deboned, brind, and seared to order. It’s smotherd in a tangy BBQ sauce, and sits of top of creamy potato salad, a sweet corn sauce, and some spicy salsa macha-cherry tomatoes!

Big and bold and beautiful!

All the local vegetables are flooding in!

We’ve bend doing the weird cucumber potato salad for a few years now, but this year Blake has elevated is with the most delicately smoked trout.

I say “weird salad” because it has crispy fried potatoes bits AND crunchy sourdough croutons; potato-panzanella salad? Local cucumbers, lots or dill and gherkins, dressed with this bright yogurt, mustard, and sesame vinaigrette. “Weird” cause with the mustard, sesame seeds, and smoke, it almost tastes like a hot dog!

On while local cucumbers are in season!
