Kentucky has had a wild weather ride the last several days. Here at Ravensong Refuge it was 72 degrees yesterday, and 27 this morning. High winds and heavy rain much of the night and it’s currently snowing.

I just saw a ragged looking raccoon wander through the yard… at 1:45pm! This is a very bad sign. It is very likely extremely sick. It had disappeared back into the brush so I don’t know what I can do for it. Poor thing.

I was not at all quiet while tromping through the woods and tossing branches off the trail. I stopped a moment to contemplate a potential trail extension and new camp site when this happened. It’s amazing how fast thing can happen when stopping in the woods and just being still and quiet.
