Gold Discovery Days is a true community celebration with locals at its heart—and we are so proud to sponsor it! 💛
Personally, this event holds a special place in my heart. I was lucky enough to participate in many Paha Sapa Pageants over the years up until they were discontinued, and I spent many years enjoying the carnival, street dances, and just running into old friends and family who return just for this event. Custer is rich in history and generations of families who are proud to call it home, which is why keeping this celebration alive is so important to us.
The Gold Discovery Days committee used to be run entirely by dedicated locals who worked tirelessly to keep this tradition going and I am eternally grateful! Today, thanks to the Custer Chamber, the event lives on. But especially after recent major budget cuts, monetary and volunteer support is crucial to keep it alive!
