Not too hot, not too cool. This weekend’s forecast is apparently taking requests ☀️🍎

We’ve still got that late-summer sunshine, but with highs in the low 80s, being outside is starting to feel awfully nice again. Spend the day picking apples, wandering the flower field, playing in the Farmyard, or just enjoying a little fresh air before the “-ber” months officially begin.

Our preferred treatment for the Sunday Scaries is three hours of live music, a cold drink, and a little fresh air 🎶

Sunday Funday is back this week from 3-6pm, so spend the afternoon outside, settle in with something cold, and enjoy the music. It’s free as always, and Monday can wait just a little longer.

We’ll be back at the Farmers’ Market this week with cider, donuts, and sourdough bread in tow! 🍎🍩🥖

And before too long, apples will be making the trip with us too. Keep an eye out for them toward the end of August and into early September.

In the meantime, please keep bringing your four-legged market buddies. Here are a few of the very good boys and girls we’ve seen so far this season. ❤️🐶

Everybody's favorite variety is almost back in the orchard! 🍎

Honeycrisp has earned its following for a reason: it’s crisp, juicy, sweet, and just tart enough. It wasn’t always a hit with larger growers and retailers, though. Much of its early popularity grew through you-pick orchards across the Midwest. Honeycrisp may be the big name, but we’ll have other varieties to sample too, including some you won’t usually find at the grocery store. Taste a few before filling your bag, then choose from half-peck, full-peck, or larger quantities.

Mother Nature sets the picking schedule, and she wrote a different one for each farm this year. Dates for each farm are listed below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
🐕 Pets are not allowed in edible you-pick patches due to USDA guidelines. They are welcome in the play areas, on the patio, and in our picnic areas, leashed, and not inside buildings.
📸 Professional photography is welcome. Everyone entering the patch needs Farm Admission, and we ask photographers to be mindful of other guests. Photographers MUST tag us on social media when posting their photos!
🌧️ Picking is weather-dependent, so check the forecast and dress accordingly. If severe weather closes the patch early, we'll post updates.

PLEASE NOTE
‼️ The availability of our crops depends on two things we can't fully predict: the weather and the crowd. Ripening shifts with the forecast, and a high-traffic day can clear our crop quickly. We'll share updates on the status of our patches on social media. If you’re traveling from a distance, please call ahead before you leave.

What time is it? 🤔 It's Tomato Time! 😎🔥🥪

Our take on a BLT comes stacked with marinated local tomatoes, house-smoked bacon, roasted tomato aioli, romaine, and tomato brioche. A little smoky, plenty juicy, and definitely a two-hands kind of sandwich.

And it goes down best with Happy Hour: $2 off ciders and house cocktails Wednesday through Friday from 2-5pm! 🍻

Caramel Apple Hard Cider is back for fall! 🍎 It’s one of those flavors people wait for all year, with crisp apple, a smooth caramel sweetness, and just enough of that cozy fall feeling in every sip. Around here, it has a habit of disappearing from the shelves almost as quickly as we stock it 🔥👀

You’ll find it in the Farm Market while it lasts!

Ginger Gold has a pretty great origin story. 🍏 The variety was discovered in Virginia after Hurricane Camille, and today it’s one of the first apples to ripen each season!

It’s crisp, refreshing, and nicely balanced between sweet and tart, making it an easy one to enjoy fresh, slice into a salad, or snack on during one of those late-summer afternoons when fall is starting to feel a little closer.

If your ideal office has four wheels and nature views, we should talk 🧑‍🌾🚜

Our Des Moines farm is hiring a Tractor Driver & Tour Guide for the season. Tractor rides are part of so many fall traditions here, carrying families into the orchard and helping turn a simple ride across the farm into part of the memory. You’ll chat with guests, share the farm story, and keep everyone safe along the way.

If you’re comfortable behind the wheel, naturally friendly, and like a workday with a little variety, this could be your seat 🍁
