We’ve lowered our lease price !! With an option to lease to own. We are hoping to find the right before winter to move in and make it home. This is a turn key restaurant down to the napkins and silverware. New POS (toast) system. The community support was absolutely amazing. Get out of the city and into something you can own for yourself.

Hello again Cumberland community and local friends!
We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has reached out and to give a quick update:​
Over the past month we have participated in a lot of brainstorming meetings and have done our best to listen to your feedback and recommendations. We have a better idea of how to best serve the community and try to hit more of the demand in hopes of stabilizing our business, but we can’t do it alone this time. One creative solution that has bounced around is to split the space with another business interested in providing breakfast and lunch. This would be a lease situation for them with shared utilities. Then we would take over in the afternoon/evening and run Rise as the family-friendly restaurant we love.
We’re asking anyone who reads this post to please share it in hopes it finds “the right person” looking to open a bakery/breakfast/lunch operation of any sort in our space. We truly believe if we team up with someone we will offer the community more of the options you’re looking for and be able to spread costs out to optimize capital for both businesses. There is even the potential to share some staff to give scheduling flexibility if needed.
Are you, or someone you know, in the industry and paying too much for your current lease? Would a co-op situation be intriguing to you? Are you, your employees and your customers tired of paying for parking in Portland? Would you like the chance to serve a wonderful community without the headache of being in a city? Well now’s your chance!
Obviously we are also willing to lease the space fully as a turn key restaurant. Or sell the property, and you could own a stand alone restaurant with ample parking in an amazing community. We just hate to see the place empty with such a need for this town.

Hello Cumberland!
Simone and myself are doing everything we can to try to create a way to get back open to the public. We love you all and miss you already.

We’re looking for any help/advice you’re willing to throw @ us. (Please keep your unhelpful or negative comments to a limit. Remember its our families livelihood and I dont want to respond disgracefully)

We understand this is a fragile business environment on all sides. But it makes us extremely happy to be a part of the community and feed such wonderful families. We need to find a way to increase revenue in the slower hours of the day.
Maybe even expand to include ice cream and or an arcade?? We have also thrown the idea of preselling a discount card. “Members only club” this would get you a discount for a length of time… say 25% off for 6mo/12mo/18mo ? The restaurant industry is @ a point where we need to change the approach, if you want to be successful. We want nothing more than to reopen the doors to this amazing community. What are you missing?
What could we do during the day to generate more revenue? We offered lunch Fri-Sun, but it just wasn’t successful? We tried brunch right in the beginning, but numbers were low and running 2 menus for low sales is pointless.
Do you know anyone that’s willing to work full time in the kitchen? Or want to be a part of the revitalization?
Again, we love you, and want to find a way to continue to be a part of such an amazing community.
All ears Cumberland…… ?

If all else fails we will be selling the building or possibly working with developers to bring residential housing back to the address.
But I don’t think that’s what the town really wants. Maybe we can push the town hall into some changes and add a large number of outdoor seating and a beer garden?
But zoning has had us in a challenging situation from the start.

LETS GO CUMBERLAND !! IM READY TO FIGHT FOR WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT & WHAT WORKS !!

To our beloved customers and the CNY community,
It is with a very heavy heart that we have to share the news we are closing Rise. Friday will be our last day of service. The perpetual kitchen-staffing crisis in the restaurant industry coupled with high operating costs and razor-thin profit margins have made it unsustainable for us to stay in business. We regret this decision tremendously as we had envisioned Rise being a staple in the community for years to come.
We hope you will join us this Wednesday, Thursday or Friday to enjoy each other’s company one last time.
Thank you for all the support over the past 2 years. Restaurants are always a risk and we don’t regret taking that leap at all. We’re just devastated that our passion wasn’t enough to keep it going. We’ve made some great friends and will miss seeing all of you every week.
