Wow, this is such an honor! I am thrilled that the Culpeper community has embraced and supported Scoop!
🌟 Next up in our 110th Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet nominee spotlight is Scoop on Davis, nominated for the Small Business of the Year! They have been recognized for their outstanding work and dedication in our community.
Here’s what their nomination had to say: “One year ago, Mindel took over as the new owner of Scoop on Davis, an ice cream spot in the back of Poppy & Chalk. Through creativity, dedication, customer care, sensitivity , coupled with the desire to be a fun filled shop , Scoop on Davis offers not just a sweet treat but a place that can be a safe space for all members of our community. She has utilized the expertise of Culpeper County Business Development Center, as a new business owner and has received valuble resources. She was instrumental in introducing Heather Griffin's bookstore to Poppy and Chalk , creating a unique partnership of 3 women business owners under 1 roof. Between the 3 entreprenuers, many community and socially pertinent events have taken place in the space. Heather and Mindel recently took over ownership of Miss Minerva's Tea Room and are working to expand all 3 businesses to better serve the community. The State Theater will be the new home of the bookstore and the tea room and Scoop will have it's own storefront in the old tea room location. Mindel has big plans for Scoop on Davis which we hope to see in the near future. Her love of community, desire to create unique inclusive opportunities and delightful shopping and eating experiences and to make Culpeper a fun destination is unmatched. ”
We’re thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments on November 7 and can’t wait to see who will take home the award!
