TEAM MEMBER THURSDAY!

I’ve decided to share two a week since I have so many awesome team members to introduce you to!

Meet Zoe!

About Me:
I recently graduated from Prairie Ridge High School and will be attending Illinois State University this fall, where I’ll be studying Speech-Language Pathology. During high school, I stayed busy with sports, activities, and working at Georgio’s in downtown Crystal Lake for the past four years!

(Man, we’re lucky they’re sharing her with us!)

TV Show I Recommend:
My go-to show is Gossip Girl! It’s such a fun show to binge-watch and one I’d definitely recommend.

Favorite Way to Spend a Weekend:
I love being outside, going on walks, and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Something That Makes My Day Better:
A shopping trip with my friends always puts me in a good mood!

Why Menchie’s?
I’m so excited to be part of a brand-new business in town, work alongside some of my friends, and even get to work with my aunt and uncle! 😉 I can’t wait to meet everyone, make great memories, and serve up some delicious froyo!

(We’re the lucky ones getting to add our awesome niece to the family business!)

Be sure to say hello when you see her at Menchie’s this summer where she will be one of our shift leaders mostly working at the start of each day….. or whenever Auntie Sieglinde needs her!

TEAM MEMBER TUESDAY!

Meet Callie!

Callie will be a senior this fall at Prairie Ridge High School, and she stays busy year-round! You can find her competing with the Girls Track Team in the spring, playing tennis in the fall, cheering on the Wolves as a Super Fan, and if you’re lucky enough to come, she’ll serving up smiles (and fro-yo!) at Menchie’s!

Life Theme Song:

“Dancing Queen” by ABBA — because she loves having fun, being herself, and enjoying every moment!

(Just the kind of team member we need!)

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Spending time with friends, family, and her dogs at the lake, especially paddle boarding and making summer memories.

Favorite Trip:

Last summer, Callie spent two incredible weeks exploring England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. It was an unforgettable adventure and one of her favorite memories!

Why Menchie’s?

Callie says…. “I chose to work here with Dan and Sieglinde because of their kindness, hard-working nature, and because I love fro-yo! I’m so excited to be part of the team and make fun memories with everyone.”

(Aw….the feeling is mutual sweet girl!)

TEAM MEMBER TUESDAY!

This week we’re excited to highlight one of our amazing team members - and the brave volunteer who agreed to go first!

Meet Tegan, who will be entering her senior year this fall at Prairie Ridge High School!

We asked her a few fun questions so everyone can get to know her a little better:

What are you involved in at school?

“My main sport is volleyball for Prairie Ridge and Sky High! I’m also involved in National Honor Society, German National Honor Society, Pride of the Pack, and I’m a Pack Leader.”

What do you like to do on weekends?

“My favorite weekends are spent with friends and family while playing volleyball. I also love running and baking!”

(Which is perfect… because we may need some future cake bakers around here)

What’s something that instantly makes your day better?

“Any fun drink or sweet treat!”
(Sounds like she found the perfect place to work)

What do you like to watch on TV?

“My favorite show — and one I’d recommend to anyone — is The Rookie.”

Why Menchie’s?

“I’m excited to work at Menchie’s because I love the idea of helping launch a new business and being part of a fun, positive environment.”

We are so excited to have Tegan on our team! I’ve had the privilege of knowing her for the past four years and have loved watching her grow into such a kind, hardworking, and confident young woman. She is going to be an incredible addition to our Menchie’s family.

A special shoutout from all of us at Menchie’s to our very own graduates — Zoe, Addi, Alexa, Abby, and Jay! We are incredibly proud to have you on our team and so excited for your next chapter.

TEAM MEMBER TUESDAY!

Each week I would like to highlight one of our awesome team members! I realized I had to start even before we open in order to get them all in!

Meet The Owners! ❤️

Dan and Sieglinde Savas have been married for 32 years and have proudly called Crystal Lake home for the past 13 years. Dan works as a Financial Advisor with Raymond James (though you may catch him pushing a broom at Menchie’s now and then), and Sieglinde is a former elementary school teacher, vice principal, stay at home mom, parent volunteer, and past Booster Club President at Prairie Ridge High School. Together, they chaired their church’s summer festival for 15 years - the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church Greek Fest each June, an annual party you won’t want to miss.

Their greatest joy are their two sons, who you’ll also see around the shop this summer. Their oldest, Matthew, graduated from the University of Alabama in 2025, and currently works in Washington, D.C. as an Associate with Venture Government Strategies and will be attending UVA Law School in the fall.

Their younger son, Danny, is finishing his freshman year at Millikin University. After recovering from shoulder surgery, he’s excited to pitch for the baseball team next season while majoring in Exercise Science.

Rounding out the family are their two goofy dogs, Charlie and Sara, who plan to spend the summer happily devouring pup cups.

The whole family is thrilled to introduce Crystal Lake to their amazing Menchie’s team. This community has given them so much, and they can’t wait to serve up delicious froyo to the town they love. Opening a small business here is a privilege, and they’re excited to begin this new chapter together.

Even though we’re not open just yet, we couldn’t wait to share this adorable coloring sheet for all the kiddos celebrating all the SUPER STAR moms out there!
