ARTIST OF THE MONTH: For the month of October we’ve been so lucky to be able to host some amazing artwork by local artist Stella✨🏳️⚧️✨!
Stella May Vlad is a 41 year-old femme trans woman living in Westchester County and has been practicing her craft of tattooing at Speakeasy Tattoo in Peekskill, NY. Stella has been making tattoos for almost 18 years and has been working at Speakeasy Tattoo for the last 12-13 years.
Through this medium, Stella has been lucky to meet and work with so many kind folks and has been able to connect with other wonderful q***r and non-gender conforming individuals saying, “I feel it’s just as important for my clients to feel comfortable, validated, and have a good experience as well as receiving a beautiful tattoo.”
Stella’s works included in her display at the Black Cow feature many years of stencils, sketches, and the blueprints of the tattoos she’s created, brought together through mixed media collage, and embracing the imperfections and rough edges made by a human creator, not edited or put through any digital perfecting process.
