So here is some food for thought! Pun intended! I've been hearing people say "I'm here at Lighthouse Pizza Subs and more because I went to *insert restaurant name* and their food is hit or miss". Well I'm sure it gets said about us too. But let me just say a few things about the restaurant business. We deal with 3 food delivery trucks a week. Sysco is our primary food truck delivery each week. Then we use an outside company that houses 3 other food delivery services. In making my order this week alone, not one of these food delivery options has 3 of my prime items needed in my kitchen to serve you. Therefore I'm having to search high and low just to get comparable items so those said menu items can be served. Ya I'll find them, are they exactly the same as what I normally get, possibly not. Might we have to change our menu/pricing and serve a 14 inch pizza rather than a 16, maybe. Might you get a different sub roll this week rather than what you got last week? Maybe. But we, as business owners, are working hard behind the scene to make every decision be the best one we can. So next time your food isn't perfect, it isn't what you got the last time, or it just seemed a little bit different, give it another try. Maybe it's not always the business maybe it's the people above the businesses that are making it harder for everyone else. Food service is a hard business, it's a very rewarding business, but sometimes things just don't go our way. But just remember small business is really what makes this world go round. So give that small business another shot before hitting those commercial chain restaurants. They're hit or miss too!
