We started a "Quiet Hour" before bed, and it’s been a game-changer for our family. 😴👇
What it is: After the normal bedtime routine, the kids get the option to stay up an extra hour in the family room for a quiet activity (coloring, reading, card games, audiobooks). Since they get to "stay up late," they think it's the biggest treat!
The Benefits:
1️⃣ True wind-down time: We all sit together, enjoy each other's company, and transition into sleep mode peacefully.
2️⃣ Toddler breakthroughs: Our 3-year-old went from ignoring books to loving storytime.
3️⃣ Intentional play: The kids actually slow down enough to enjoy activities they overlook during the day.
4️⃣ Time for us: Dad gets to read, and I get to crochet.

Hey friends! If you look up at the top of this page today, you might notice things look a little bit different around here...

When I closed the doors to our in-home bakery business to focus more intentionally on our family, your love and support absolutely blew me away. But if you know me, you know the baking didn't actually stop, and neither did the beautiful, messy, joyful chaos of running a household of eight!

We want to be intentional with our time, build our self-sufficiency, and grow our homesteading skills right from our backyard. Transparently, we do hope to be able to monetize our work on social media to help further the goals that we have for our family and future generations.

So, Em’s Eats is officially expanding into Em's Eats & Home!

Here is a little bit of what you can expect to see here:
🍞 Lots of baking and cooking content (yes, plenty of sourdough!)
🧺 The practical systems I have in place to keep our home running smoothly
🏡 Our family DIYs, handmade crafts, homestead projects, and our pet tortoise, Tilly!
🙏 Genuine reflections on faith, motherhood, and striving to joyfully serve the Lord through everything He puts before me.

Whether you’ve been here since the early bakery days, or you’re completely new to our corner of the internet, I am so incredibly grateful you are here. My prayer is that this space brings a little bit of encouragement and practical inspiration to your own home.

Standard rules apply around here: the bread is always fresh, the coffee is always on, and grace abounds!

Good morning, friends!

Getting ready to do some seasonal baking and wanted to quickly re-introduce my family! We are now a family of 8. 🥰🥰

Since the last time we posted on this page, we have welcomed our newest little guy, born in June, and adopted our second tiniest guy. Our hearts and home are full and we love it!
