I learned to make sauces by reading labels and figuring out what ingredients were in the sauce and recreated them. It didn’t happen overnight, but I was able to figure out how much sugar or salt or whatever is in the sauce. If I wanted to go a step further I could test the ph to figure out the acidity. Then I realized I could use whatever combination of ingredients I wanted to create something unique, which I do all the time. Figured out how to make a fat free raspberry vinaigrette (or any type of fat free vinaigrette) using psyllium husk (fiber supplement) as a thickener. So I know how to make fat free high fiber dressings.
