The Mermaid Shanty The Mermaid Shanty is a street side, walk-up restaurant in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay waterfront community of Crisfield Maryland.

Along with snow cones and shaved ice, the “Shanty” serves deep fried seafood, including Chesapeake Bay crab balls.

The Mermaid Shanty has added another item to the menu: JUMBO LUMP CRAB MEAT MARTINI; An intoxicating (not really) jumbo lump crab meat salad made cold with a full 1/4 pound of Crisfield's finest Metompkin Jumbo lump crab meat. Served in an Old Bay rimmed martini glass and comes with crackers and chips. Mermaids like cocktails too and they love this one when they feel "crabby". With crab meat prices going through the roof, The Mermaid Shanty does it's best to hold down prices. Here is a listing of all our crab menu items.

The Mermaid Shanty has two new menu items: CRAB SALAD MEAL; A tasty backfin crab salad made cold with a full 1/3 pound of Crisfield's finest Metompkin Backfin Crabmeat. Served on a bed of lettuce and comes with crackers and chips! Yum! and SOFT SHELL CRAB TACO MEAL; A delectable corn dusted jumbo soft shell crab in a soft taco shell with avocado, red cabbage and a special sauce. Meal comes with chips! Hope to see ya on April 15th for the start of Mermaid Season!! See our updated menu below.

The Mermaid Shanty will open for the 2021 season on Thursday, April 15th at 12:00 Noon. We ask that all customers follow the CDC Guidelines and maintain a six foot distance from each other. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you!

During August's 4th Saturday Bay Stroll (August 22th), The Mermaid Shanty will have a sale on t-shirts. Both adult and children sizes are available for $9.00 each. Come for a visit and order fried seafood for lunch or dinner, try our ice delights and purchase a mermaid shirt.
