MAYOR & COUNCIL MEETING UPDATE | TANGIER CLASSIC

During tonight’s Mayor and City Council meeting, Mr. Chamberlain spoke on behalf of the American Legion regarding the upcoming Tangier Classic Fishing Tournament.

Mr. Chamberlain requested a three-day alcohol waiver to allow alcohol on the beach during the tournament.

Following the discussion, a motion was made to approve the three-day alcohol waiver, and the motion was approved by the Mayor and City Council.

The temporary waiver will apply during the three-day tournament period as part of the upcoming Tangier Classic festivities.

Lenny Ward and Todd Chamberlain attended the VA’s Homeless Veterans Stand down in Ocean Pines today. We had around 50 at risk Vets show up for assistance at varying levels. We presented 2 donation checks totalling $5000 to 2 non profits, one of which is a homeless shelter, with some beds dedicated for veterans, in West Ocean City. It was very rewarding. This is what the Legion is all about. Boots on the ground helping veterans, esp at their most vulnerable moments. We were joined by post 166, OceanCity Commander, Bob Thompson and Maryland Department Commander, Eric Warthen.
