🎉🎂 TODAY IS MARTA'S BIRTHDAY! ❤️🎉

Today is a special day here at Black Sheep Craft Kitchen — it's Marta's birthday!

Now, most people would probably take the day off, relax, and let someone else do the cooking. But not Marta! 😂

Like so many small business owners, she's spending her birthday right here at the restaurant, making sure the kitchen is running, the food is delicious, and everyone who walks through our doors leaves happy and well-fed.

That's just Marta. ❤️

Black Sheep isn't just a business to her. It's something she's poured her heart, time, energy, and countless hours into. And even on her birthday, she's right here doing what she loves — taking care of everyone else.

POLISH FRANKENSTEIN — IT'S ALIVE!

A monster of a meal! Layers of golden potato pancakes, smoked Polish sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, sautéed onions, and melted mozzarella, baked together and served with mushroom gravy on the side.

THE FIG DEAL SMASH BURGER

Sweet meets savory! A juicy smash burger with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, fig spread, Dijon mustard, and crispy fried leek strings. It's kind of a big fig deal!

Something Delicious Is Cooking at Black Sheep Craft Kitchen This Week!

Our kitchen crew has been getting creative, and this week's specials are anything but ordinary! Chefs Adam, Marta and Tanya have been busy bringing some exciting new creations to the table.

CHEF ADAM'S POLISH FRANKENSTEIN — IT'S ALIVE!

After months of brainstorming with Marta, Adam finally brought his creation to life! Layers of golden potato pancakes, smoked Polish sausage, creamy mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, sautéed onions, and melted mozzarella, all baked together and served with rich mushroom gravy on the side.

One delicious monster of a meal!

CHEF MARTA'S THE FIG DEAL SMASH BURGER

Marta's latest creation brings sweet and savory together in one incredible burger! A juicy smash burger topped with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, fig spread, tangy Dijon mustard, and crispy fried leek strings.

WOW — we got a lot of heat over our recent flyer, so I guess it's time to talk about it. 😅

Full disclosure. Almost all the food pictures you see from Black Sheep start with pictures of our REAL food, made right here in our kitchen.

I'm including some of the original pictures with this post so you can see what the food actually looks like.

Yes, we use AI. We use it to help make some of our flyers, posters and other advertising. We're a small independent restaurant.

We don't have a big marketing department or a huge advertising budget. Before AI, businesses paid graphic designers, Photoshop experts and professional photographers to do the same kind of thing.

The big companies can spend tens of thousands of dollars on a professional food photo shoot. We can't.

And let's be real. We all know the burger on the McDonald's billboard doesn't look exactly like the burger you pull out of the bag. 😂

Our intention was never to trick anyone into thinking our food is something it's not.
But we heard you.

Some of you would rather see a regular, not-so-perfect picture of the actual food than something that looks too polished or AI generated. That's fair.

If you look through our page, you'll see plenty of regular pictures and videos of our food. You'll also see pictures posted by our customers showing exactly what was put on their table.

So going forward, we're going to keep the AI alterations of the actual FOOD to a minimum. We'll still use these tools to help us make the posters, backgrounds and layouts look good, but the food is going to stay as close to the real picture as possible.

So here are some of the real pictures behind the pretty posters.

No professional photo shoot.

No $100,000 advertising budget.

starts with a hand-grated potato pancake fried golden and crisp, then covered in our rich, slow-simmered pork loin goulash. Crispy edges, tender pork, savory gravy — Polish comfort food at its best.

fork-tender pork slow-braised with onions, garlic, and sweet paprika, served over soft, pillowy Polish potato dumplings made for soaking up every drop of that gravy.

When nature adds its own little cutout! 🥬✨❤️We are busy rolling up fresh cabbage rolls for tomorrow, and we just stumbled across this leaf with a perfect heart-shaped hole right in the middle! Feeling the love today, and clearly, the cabbage is too! 😂
