I would say opening day was a success! Creede Repertory Theatre showed up 15 deep, we got to see some friendly faces and we got some puppy love!

Just like Emily and Colter, we are lucky to have such an amazing family running Opie’s. We love supporting you and can’t wait for an amazing summer

It’s about time we introduced ourselves as the new owners at Opie’s.

My name is Chris and along with my wife, Faith and youngest son, James, we have acquired Opie’s from our friends Emily and Colter. We hope to carry on the legacy they started.

A little about us: We moved to Colorado during those weird pandemic years. First to Durango and then to Creede. And while some might not call us locals, we do call Creede our home year round for the past 3 years. Winters in Creede are quite special.

We love this community and all the challenges and fun living in a small mountain town might bring. Let’s face it some of us are a little peculiar (I know I am). And that’s what makes Creede great! I love it!

Faith also works at the school helping with the young students and assisting teachers. She is often greeted with a hug by students when we are out and about. She cares deeply and has a big heart. She has put up with me for 32 years. And that is saying a lot.

For me, prior to Opie’s, I worked as a District Manager at Starbucks covering Southwest Colorado and northern New Mexico. I spent 20 years with the Bux. There I grew to love the service industry and the positive impact you can have in people’s daily lives. This is my hope for Opie’s. Not just good, fresh food, but a place where you feel better after visiting. Thus our slogan, “Good Food, Mountain Style, Friendly Faces.”

If you call Creede your home and we haven’t met, stop by for a cup of coffee and some conversation. We also serve lunch and will be serving dinner this summer. If you are visiting this summer, know we are getting ready and can’t wait to make your visit great.

A few other places you might see me is anywhere there is a volleyball. It’s been a privilege to coach the Lady Miners HS team and I am looking forward to another great year. You might also see me and James along with our 2 Irish Wolfhounds (Fáolan and Sleven) out on the trails exploring this beautiful place.

So here is to a great summer filled with food, friends and fun! Hope to see you at Opie’s!
