Owners Sabrina and Richard Campanella can attribute the idea of opening the restaurant to Sabrina’s father and grandfather. Sabrina’s grandfather had his

own restaurant located in New York City, this is where her father, Tom, developed his passion for the restaurant industry. Tom opened The Big Cheese located on Reservoir Ave. in Cranston, which he owned and operated until 1999. Sabrina and her sister Penny grew up working in the restaurant. With the guidance and mentorship from their father, Sabrina and her sister were capable of running and managing the restaurant by their late teenage years. For years Sabrina wanted to take over The Big Cheese from her father, but it was his relentlessness to sell to her that led Sabrina and her husband to open their own restaurant, Campanella’s. Richard Campanella begins his day at 6:30 a.m. prepping and baking their signature homemade wheat, multi-grain, and white breads. Campanella’s has developed a positive reputation and prides itself on its authenticity and customer service. Much of Campanella’s success is in thanks to its great staff. The staff at Campanella’s is hard-working, caring, dependable and Sabrina & Rick very much appreciate them and are pleased to have them on their team. A new chapter begins as a local favorite takes on an exciting new identity. Formerly known as Campanella’s, the restaurant is now proudly open as Itri Ristorante & Pizzeria, located at 1686 Cranston Street.

This transition brings together the best of both worlds. Guests can continue to enjoy the beloved dishes that made Campanella’s a staple in the community, now complemented by a curated selection of specialty offerings from Itri Ristorante. The result is a thoughtfully crafted menu blending tradition with fresh inspiration.

“A curated menu combining the signature favorites of Campanella’s with the specialty dishes of Itri Ristorante—now available at Itri Ristorante & Pizzeria. Change can be tough, but we’re keeping the favorites and building on what made Campanella’s special. We hope you’ll give us a shot!”

To celebrate the opening, Itri Ristorante & Pizzeria is offering FREE delivery on all orders of $25.00 or more, making it even easier for customers to enjoy their favorite meals at home.

Conveniently located just 2.8 miles — less than 5 minutes away from the former Campanella’s location, the new restaurant ensures a familiar experience with an elevated twist.
