The land where those old Canal Street provisions buildings and Saugy's once stood became part of the Roger Williams National Memorial park footprint (along with sections cleared for highway and downtown redesign projects).
While the 2007 live-action Underdog movie was filmed extensively all over Providence (using it as the stand-in for "Capital City") and featured various parks like Roger Williams Memorial Park and Prospect Terrace, the real-life beagle who played Underdog was named Leo.
