A little business update from me 🤍
After giving this A LOT of thought, I’ve decided that I’m going to be stepping back from taking regular weekly cake orders.
When I started this little business, baking was something I genuinely looked forward to. It was fun, creative, and something I loved doing. But somewhere along the way, it started to feel less like a fun passion and more like another full time responsibility.
The reality is that a custom cake can take me 10-12+ hours between planning, baking, fillings, decorating, shopping, cleaning, and everything in between… And while I’ve always tried to keep my prices as reasonable as possible, I’ve realized that I simply can’t continue putting that much time into orders and taking time away from my family without it being worth it for me. My kids are still so little, and I’ve reached a point where I want to soak up as much of this season with them as I possibly can. ❤️ I don’t want to look back and feel like I was so busy trying to keep up with orders that I missed the little moments that I can never get back… and that’s how I’m feeling in this moment.
So moving forward, Sugar on Sunday will be VERY limited. I’ll be taking only a couple of orders a month, primarily for family and friends, with the possibility of opening a few spots to customers when my schedule allows it.
This isn’t me saying goodbye to baking forever. I still absolutely love creating beautiful cakes and treats. I just need to find a way to enjoy it again without sacrificing so much of my time, energy, and family life.
Thank you to every single person who has ordered from me, shared my posts, left a review, recommended me, or simply cheered me on. You have helped make this little business so special to me, and I am incredibly grateful. 🤍
For now, I’m choosing my family, my time, and the joy of baking again. And I think that’s okay. 🫶🏼
