Meet The Team: Stef

Stef wears a lot of hats at Carmelo’s, helping oversee everything from financial operations to employee support, payroll, and benefits. But beyond that, she’s been part of the Carmelo’s story since day one, helping support her brother Mitch, Billy, and the entire team as Carmelo’s came to life.

She describes Carmelo’s as “a vibe,” classy, welcoming, and family oriented.

One of the things she loves most is showing first-time guests the artwork and history throughout the restaurant, including pieces that help tell the story of Carmie and how Carmelo’s came to life.

One moment she says she’ll never forget was watching Mitch, Billy, their families, and the community come together during the ribbon cutting. Seeing everything finally open after all the work that went into it gave her chills.

Two of her favorite dishes are the crispy cauliflower and crispy garlic alfredo, and when it comes to drinks, she’s happiest with a glass of prosecco or rosé in hand.

And if she could invite anyone to dinner at Carmelo’s? She says it would be family members who never got the chance to eat here, gathered around the table sharing mozzarella and lasagna together.

After every successful night, Stef says she leaves feeling grateful, and we’re grateful for her too. If you happen to see Stef out and about make sure to say hello!

COMMUNITY: A community is a social unit of individuals connected by shared characteristics, interests, values or geographical location. It provides members with a sense of identity, belonging, and mutual support, and can exist in physical spaces (like neighborhoods) or in virtual spaces (like online networks)

These are some of the pillars in which Carmelo’s was built. The people and COMMUNITY are everything to a restaurant. Last week we were welcomed into this incredible home and able to share what we do with some amazing people. The event was Bourbon & Backers, hosted by Cintrifuse Capital, Blue North & Great American. It brought together a groups of Venture Capitalists and Investors across the US to experience our startup ecosystem and show the world how special Covington truly is.

Thank you to everyone involved for letting us share a small piece of why we love Covington so much.

Grace put together a cocktail that’s equal parts refreshing, botanical, and easy to drink. Rosemary simple, Brucato Orchards, Cointreau, and bitters all brought together with a gin-forward backbone.

Casarecce pasta tossed with sautéed mushrooms and garlic in a Marsala wine cream sauce, finished with toasted breadcrumbs, crushed herbs, and aged Pecorino. Rich, earthy, and balanced with a lighter take on a classic old school sauce.
